My fave Elvis Christmas cover is the one used when RCA re-issued the '57 album in '58.

The original 1957 cover will always be the best for me.

Unlike dannyboy1 I loved the cover of '57 but this one with those sidburns lol, didn't do a lot for me.I alway's thought that his sideburns took over his face & got riddiculous. Priscilla had the right idea when she said to Elvis ref a photo of Rick Nelson, that Elvis & Rick looked alike and that Elvis should change his hair style like Rick's with the center parting and longer hair, it would have suited Elvis very much, similar to his hair in "Change Of Habit", but Elvis went into one and said that was his trademark. Even Roy Orbison changed his hair.

I find it hard to believe the Aussies are that opposed to the cover shown. I've only seen this shot recently (from this LP) and its rather rare at that. I do think there is a knee-jerk anti-Elvis component out there. As it is, they probably see side-burns and conjur up the worst stereotypes about '70s Elvis. It's similar to those who see a piece of TTWII and say "he's fat here, right?" You tell me, Einstein! The original US cover from '57 is more historic than beloved and was replaced by '58 in the US. I've come to like it (have the great '85 reissue on green vinyl) but I also have a soft spot for the 1970 Camden yule set's phony cover.

Memories of Christmas would have to be the best of them.

To be truthful, I've never really liked the cover on the original 1957 album. Of course, that's just my opinion. The cover of the 1971 album was tacky, but cute. But I can't think of any Elvis Christmas CD cover that I would rate very highly.

Ah but one of the best if not the best Christmas album cover was the original 1957 LP. Not only the cover, but the whole package was the best thing ever done by RCA on an Elvis LP. Why did they get so cheap as the years went on?
