Tumblin' Tumbleweeds

Words & Music: Bob Nolan
I keep rolling along
Deep in my heart is a song
Here on the ranch I belong
Driftin' along with the tumblin' tumbleweeds
See them tumblin' down
Pledging their love to the ground
Lonely but free I'll be found
Driftin' along with the tumblin' tumbleweeds
Cares of the past are behind
Know where they're gone, but I'm fine
Just where the trailer will whine
Driftin' along with the tumblin' tumbleweeds
I know when night is gone
That I knew this border done (?)
I keep rolling along
Deep in my heart is a song
Here on the ranch I belong
Driftin' along with the tumblin' tumbleweeds
Driftin' along with the tumblin' tumbleweeds
We knew this border done (?)
I keep rolling along
Deep in my heart is a song
Here on the ranch I belong
Driftin' along with the tumblin' tumbleweeds
Driftin' along with the tumblin' tumbleweeds
Driftin' along with the tumblin' tumbleweeds
Cares of the past are behind
Know where they're gone, but I'm fine
Just where the trailer will whine
Driftin' along with the tumblin' tumbleweeds
I know when night is gone
That I knew this border done (?)
I keep rolling along
Driftin' along with the tumblin' tumbleweeds

Reactions
I agree it goes on much too long, but then again all things being equal it was never meant for general release however there is a guy on YouTube who combines the lead in with the Sons of the Pioneers and truncates it to just over 3 minutes. His efforts are more than acceptable given the confines of the recording.
A waste of space for Song Of The Day. 1 star.
Nice song. Wish he had recorded it officially.
I've always liked this Gene Autry smash hit country song immensely and Elvis' home recorded performance of it was fantastic. Gene Autry's rendition of it is definitely the best rendition of it. This song is definitely a true masterpiece. 5 Stars.
Don't think I've played this more than twice.
Elvis does this one with Charlie Hodge & Red West. It's a drag, it just goes on and on. What an awful song it is.
