Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day

City sidewalks, busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style
In the air there's a feeling of Christmas
Children laughing, people passing
Meeting smile after smile
And on every street corner you'll hear

Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day

Strings of streetlights, even stoplights
Blink a bright red and green
As the shoppers rush home with their treasures
Hear the snow crunch, see the kids bunch
This is Santa's big scene
And above all this bustle you'll hear

Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day
Recorded: 1971/05/15, first released on Elvis Sings the Wonderful World of Christmas

Do not like this song by anyone. Just a boring song. I like to hear original Christmas songs now instead of the usual standards Ive heard all my life too many times. For the standards I prefer Crosby, Como, Williams, Sinatra, and Mathis. For originals, the ones found on Elvis' Christmas albums and everyone else who came out with them, Chuck Berry, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Chris Isaak, Johnny Maestro, etc etc..

I've out grown the '57 Christmas LP. I'll play the TWWOC 3 or 4 times during the Christmas season before I play the other once. Nice laid back version of Silver Bells by E. Doesn't suck.

Not a very enthusiastic performance in my opinion; actually the entire album compared to his original Christmas album released back in 1957 sucks to put in bluntly. 2-stars.

I like Elvis' version of this song. Short, sweet and to the point. Unlike Merry Christmas Baby. Which goes on and on and on.

I can tolerate this in the context of the album on december 24, otherwise i i don't give a .... i mean, i don't care to much for it, and i don't think that elvis sounds was enthusiastic here either. 2 stars at best.

I don't like this song, one of the (just a few) bad songs from the 70's in my opinion.

This is easily one of my most favorite Christmas songs and my favorite rendition of it is Elvis' rendition. 5 Stars

Not a blockbuster by any means but a pleasant song that evokes that wonderful feeling of Christmas and family.

It brings out the Christmas spirit I think, even on a slightly warm day in May. Nice & gentle. Easy to the ear, especially when Elvis sings it.

I would have loved to hear Elvis in the 1970s, accompanied by only an acoustic guitar! This song could have been great if done simply and quietly. As it is, def not a fav---though preferable to Winter Wonderland

Not sure why Elvis has recorded songs from Bing Crosby but it happened nevertheless with passable results like Silver Bells. The weakest song from another wise great album and probably should be just regarded as such, an album filler.

This Christmas standard closes out the WWOC LP. It is pleasant; but easily the weakest song on side B of the LP (of course the other four tracks are among Elvis' finest works). I have been guilty of hitting the eject button on my turntable after "Merry Christmas Baby" to keep from hearing this song again. Still, when I do play it, I find myself singing along and enjoying it...3 stars.
