3.6 / 5

Words & Music: Joy Byers

Well she's a..
Earth quakin', hip shakin', soul breakin', love makin'
Machine...hey hey!!
She's a mad stalkin', smooth talkin', slow walkin' cat
You know what I mean..hey hey!!

She'll wrap those arms around you
Like a grizzly bear
She'll kiss you every fifteen minutes
And lets you up for air

Cause she's a earth quakin', hip shakin'
Soul breakin', love makin', machine

All right!!

Well she's a
Wild movin', smooth groovin', clock tickin', love makin'
Machine...hey hey!!
She's a real breezin', rough squeezin', hell teasin' cat
You know what I mean...hey hey!!

She'll leer and make you like it
Sweet as she can be
She'll make you blow your mind before
You count to one-two-three

Cause she's a earth quakin', hip shakin'
Soul breakin', love makin', machine

This was supposedly recorded for Easy Come, Easy Go. Too bad it didnt make the soundtrack cause it would have been the best song from that dreadful movie. Good rocker with Elvis really sounding into it.

Concerning sound, a harbinger of the Comeback Special.

Not a very memorable song but would still have been a positive addition to a horrible movie.

I quite like the song. And since I'm a sucker for any movie with scuba stuff in it I quite like the movie, too.

This song has always been one of my favourites! It was on a tape recording I got from a friend. It must have been my second Elvis cassette in ca. 1987. One of the albums transferred to the cassette was "Elvis sings Flaming Star" so this means I even like "Do the Vega". The first records / tapes you hear by an artist you love is, in most cases, special to you.

I Like this song, alot ! It's "Raunchy and Fun". And, I never tire, of it. It seems alot of the better, and, in some cases, harder edged songs were cut from the movies. "She's a machine" should have, stayed in the film "Easy Come, Easy Go", because it would have been, without a doubt, one of the best, standout songs, in the movie. Other questionable cuts, "Do the Vega" from "Viva Las Vegas" and "I'm a Roustabout" from "Roustabout", And many other songs, cut from the movies, which thankfully made it to Vinyl and CDs.

Compared to the movie soundtrack songs - it's reasonable. But in the wider scheme of things it really is not very good.

A nice, short rocker recorded for, but not included in the movie "Easy Come, Easy Go". I just listened to this song yesterday and Elvis really growls his way through this one and puts a little something extra into it (especially compared to some other soundtrack songs). I think this is Elvis' worst movie, but it did decently at the box office hitting #50 for the year and I think if RCA had released a single (and scrapped the extended play) of "You Gotta Stop" backed with "She's A Machine" they would have had a top 20 hit. Or...they could have released a five track EP with the title song, "I'll Take Love", "Sing You Children", "You Gotta Stop" and "She's A Machine". "The Love Machine" and "Yoga Is As Yoga Does" are fair in the movie, but less than exciting on record.

I always liked this song. Elvis sounds like he liked this song, for sure. Without a doubt, it should have been included in the movie.

A song relagated from the dire soundtrack of an equally bad film and put on a budget album. On the face of it, it doesn't sound promising, but wait! The Flaming Star album was pretty good and contained a similar batch of cast offs that were well received. This song wasn't at all bad after all.

Listen to this recording, now listen to 'Hot Dog', 'Good Luck Charm', 'Suppose', & 'Guitar Man' I choose these 4 at ramdom. IMO no contest. I've put SAM back on my non fav rack.

I like the "movie master" take (from Double Features) better than the released track ("Elvis sings Flaming Star".) It sure is a groovy song ;)

Surprisingly good, isn't it? An unexpectedly down and dirty, growly track from a lame movie containing the worst Elvis movie song of all time: "Yoga is as Yoga Does." This track, in a weird way, reminds me a little of the Sun track "You're a Heartbreaker". I like this one. It really has a nice edge to it. "Meanest Girl In Town" is similar, but this is better.

Back then, and even now with the Flaming Star Camden album rereleased on CD, I like the entire album. This song included. The soundtrack EP is what it is: One of Elvis' poorest soundtracks ever. But, this song somehow show some sparkle from our man. A better production of the session might have saved some, but is all in the history now. I don't think the movie itself reflects the poor soundtrack! I don't file the movie as the worst!

Good song,Elvis sounds raw and rocking, shame it wasn't in the movie.

This is such a fantastic, fun, electrifying, underrated and overlooked song and it's easily one of Elvis' very best movie songs from the 1960's. It's such a shame that this gem wasn't included in the movie "Easy Come, Easy Go".

Should've been a bigger hit. The anti-ELVIS media never quits.

One of a few songs I enjoy from this film track, as it has some guts about it and a modicum of intent and energy. Good for a film track recording and although no trend-setter is more than passable. -3 stars.

I like this track very much. If it had a good production with one or two guitar breaks it would be, easily, one of Elvis best Swinging 60's track, and a 60's classic. We find in the Youtube a nice mix of this track that has almost 3 minutes. Great. This should have been that path in sound tracks.

A nice sixties rocker. Elvis' voice had matured, so it is not as he sounded in the fifties. Very enjoyable, unlike most of the general music from those days.

Geez... I hit the 5-star rating by accident, but who cares? Seems we keep getting these ridiculous, horrid songs to review and they're becoming rather repetitous. Crap in, crap out. Likewise to include both soundtrack & movie.

I actually really like this song as with all the ECEG soundtrack. There’s a different sound to these songs (apart from being badly produced) and the melodies are catchy. This one is a real rocker. 3 stars
marty wrote on September 19, 2020
The best of the songs recorded for ECEG but this doesn't mean much as the soundtrack was rather poor. For example "Yoga Is As Yoga Does" is one of the worst songs released by Elvis in his lifetime! Compare these soundtrack recordings with the previous studio recordings (How Great Thou Art sessions) and those that followed (Guitar Man sessions) and it is obvious the soundtrack formula was not working any more, in fact it hadn't worked for a while! Thankfully others thought so as well, including Elvis, and a comeback was soon to come. "She's A Machine" is not bad but the lyrics could be much better. 3 stars
