Faded Love

Words & Music: B. Willis/ J. Willis
As I read the letters that you wrote to me
Well it's you, it's you that I’m thinking of
As I read the lines that to me were so sweet
I remember our faded love
I miss you darlin' more and more everyday
As heaven would miss the stars above
With every heartbeat, I still think of you
And remember our faded love
As I think of the past, all the pleasures that we had
As I watch the mating of the doves
It was in the springtime that you said goodbye
I remember our faded love
I miss you darlin' more and more everyday
As heaven would miss the stars above
With every heartbeat, I still think of you
And remember our faded love
Recorded: 1970/06/07, first released on Elvis Country
Reactions
Not one of my favorites. 2-stars.
I much prefer the tracks on That's the Way It Is over Elvis Country and Love Letters From Elvis, culled from the same sessions. Faded Love is a solid recording, bout does not rank in my top 100 Elvis songs.
I've never heard anyone but Elvis sing this song. It is another great song from the Elvis Country album.
outstanding from best 70's album
I don't care for Elvis' reinvention of this song. I can tolerate the edited version. But I have no time for the unedited version.
Never cared for the song at all
A rocking version of a Patsy Cline ballad. Excellent example of Elvis taking a song made famous by another artist and making it completely his own. Could have been a hit single easily.
Elvis first tried it out more slow & country (as can be heard on "A hundred years from now"), but finally turned it into a country-rock song. Brilliant. Also good guitarwork.
One of my favourite tracks from Elvis Country with a good rocking beat and excellent vocal delivery.
This is such a stellar song and Elvis' rendition of it was splendid. Elvis should have sang this song at more than just a few of his concerts though. I rate every song, arrangement and performance from the "Elvis Country" album 5 Stars.
Solid country effort, but easily one of, if not the weakest song on the Elvis Country LP. A 5 star LP and a 3 star track.
I like it a lot, but I think it is the weakest song on the album. Done & overdone by too many before Elvis.
Elvis Country! one of the best albums. and a rocking song from the album. go E
Luke the guitar man version
For a country song more than okay. I like the fatest version the most.
