Elvis found work at MARL Metal Products and worked on the 3.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m. shift. Then Elvis entered his junior year at Humes, where his teachers soon started to complain to his parents about Elvis falling asleep in the classroom. They made Elvis quit and Gladys went back to work at St. Joseph's.
