Elvis flew from New York to Los Angeles for his Hollywood screen test and was picked up by the Colonel, Tom Diskin and Leonard Hirshan, who recalled Elvis getting out off the plane with a camera around his neck like any other tourist.
Elvis' band drove back to Memphis stopping to visit Carl Perkins in the Hospital in Dover, Delaware, with a get-well message from Elvis.
