Elvis performed at the Fair Park Coliseum, Lubbock, Texas at 4.00 p.m. The advertisement said: "Elvis Presley, The Be-Bop Western Star of the Louisiana Hayride, returns to Lubbock." This was the first booking that Neal had obtained directly through the Colonel and the group was paid $350 for their performance. A young Buddy Holly was at the bottom of this bill as half of the country-and-western duo Buddy and Bob.
