Elvis, dressed in a black outfit with a bolero jacket, showed up at the Rainbow Rollerdome where he met Dixie and talked to her for the very first time. However, he drove her home in his 1941 Lincoln.

Elvis was in the RCA studio in New York and recorded between 11.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. 4 songs, including a version of Blue Suede Shoes.

Elvis flew home to Memphis by way of Chicago.

January 30, 1964

Elvis arrived in Las Vegas for an extended vacation with a whole entourage, including Joe Esposito, Alan Fortas, Richard Davis, Jimmy Kingsley, Billy Smith and Marty Lacker. While in Las Vegas the group attended shows by Fats Domino, Della Reese, the Clara Ward Singers, Don Rickles and Tony Martin.

Elvis left for Los Angeles at 10.00 a.m. in his Dodge motor home.
