Elvis performed at the Fair Park Coliseum, Lubbock, Texas at 4.00 p.m. The advertisement said: "Elvis Presley, The Be-Bop Western Star of the Louisiana Hayride, returns to Lubbock." This was the first booking that Neal had obtained directly through the Colonel and the group was paid $350 for their performance. A young Buddy Holly was at the bottom of this bill as half of the country-and-western duo Buddy and Bob.

Elvis performed at the Paramount Theater, Newport News, Virginia at 4.30, 7.00 and 9.00 p.m. Due to the overflow crowds there was a 4th show added at 11.00 p.m.

Elvis created a traffic jam in Friedberg, when he stopped to sign autographs.

Elvis continued to be ill and his doctors recommended that he canceled both shows. He did do the dinner show, but followed the advice by canceling the midnight shows both on this night and the next.

There was an agreement drawn up between Elvis, real estate developer T. Michael McMahon, Joe Esposito and Dr. Nick for the creation of a chain of racquetball courts around the country the be called Presley Center Courts.
