Elvis appeared briefly on stage with Danny Thomas at Thomas' Shower of Stars to benefit St. Jude's Hospital at Russwood Park in Memphis. The show included movie stars Jane Russell and Susan Hayward, country singer Ferlin Huskey, pop singer Roberta Sherwood and comedian Lou Costello.
