On tour cd box definitly, but sadly no dvd or blu ray deluxe box. Warner please take a look at the new Beatles release on 3 ( ! ) blu rays about 8 ( ! ) hours unreleased material ! See how they ca do it ! We have material fron on tour and ttwii. Why aren´t there any deluxe editions with unreleased material ? What are you waiting for ! It´s time, so come on !

Totally agree with you Gladyslove. And once again the unboxing will take place during Elvis Week with a schedule release around the U.S. Thanksgiving (end of November) just like the previous three compilations. Remember back in the 90s when this type of releases were scheduled around July - August? As far as all the unreleased material is concerned, perhaps the 100th anniversary of TTWII and EOT. I'm sure Ernst & company will be around to see the project through.

It will be the four usual suspects, Richmond, Hampton Roads, Greensboro and San Antonio plus some rehearsal stuff on a 4 cd set with a booklet. Similar to the Vegas 69 set. That’s my guess.

very excited for this one. sounds like it'll be a 4d set featuring hampton roads richomond greensboro and san antonio. i wonder what they will do with the march '72 session. will it be the 5th disc or will it get its own release...maybe 2 discs like the album sets...or will it get a ftd release. can't wait to find out.

A sony legacy release. I think this won´t be an ftd release !? A fat book, a few cds BUT no dvds, for sure. They surely missed to jump on the train. So I am gonna enjoy the new Beatles blu rays and wait for another year(s).

I hope very much that we will get a 4 CD box with the 4 concerts on the Legacy label, and the complete rehearsals with a book on the FTD label. If it will be separated like this, everybody can make his choice.

For the "hard-fans", there is not much to expect from this release... unless there is a repeat CD with improved sound and a little surprise. But for the concerts, the number of reissues of each one since "Vicky Records" has allowed us to have them all in the best sound available...

While we are still in the guessing phase, I suspect there will be a Sony Legacy project containing audio, possibly with a Blu-ray component, and a separate FTD book/CD project (along the lines of the TTWII book/CD project). FTD will likely be a vehicle to get all of the rehearsals out for copyright protection purposes.
Walter wrote on July 29, 2022
I am not expecting any surprises with the box set, it will most likely be a 5 or 6 disc set, containing Hampton Roads, Richmond, San Antonio, and Greensboro, along with a disc or two of rehearsals (quite possibly with a recycling of FTD’s On Tour Rehearsals).

A sony legacy and a ftd set at the same time !? No way. They didn´t do that since and I am sure they won´t do it at this time. This set could be in the same format as the last two relases, the 1970 and 1971 set. Maybe. So we get a 1972 set.

Hi Gladyslove, They released all TTWII concerts in a Box on the Legacy label, and the TTWII rehearsals mainly on the FTD label, with book. Thus, why not repeat it here? The Concerts shall have a nice sound quality, so they could be interesting for the general public, too.
Gladyslove wrote on August 01, 2022
Yes, that is right. But they are different, for the collector and for the public as I see it. The two only great releases for the public, not on ftd, are ttwii and on tour. Is there something more excited to release for the public ? No, just greatest hits compilitions again and again.

Does anyone if the shows in Dayton and Jacksonville were recorded professionally?

So it´s from sony only ? No release from ftd or do we get an announcment in the next days ? And the blu ray will surely be the original docu only but with the original opening, Johnny B. !?

There's nothing new for us Elvis scholars. The only thing we can hope for the Blu-ray is that it has some kind of a DTS HD Master sound (not like the Blu-ray in the 1968 Comeback box set) with the original intro. For the CDs, I guess the sound will be far superior than what we have so far.
Gladyslove wrote on August 02, 2022
Do we realy have all the rehearsals ? And afaik there is one on tour concert which isn´t complete as we get it so far. Isn´t there a song or two missing ?
Stefan74 wrote on August 03, 2022
I have heard it should be a 6 CD and 1 Blueray Box. If this is right I think it will be the 4 concerts and 2 reheahrsal CDs. FTD is about to work on a book about EOT and if it is the same way as the movie Making Of series it will feature 3 CDs that could be the Mock session, Buffalo rehearsal and the Interviews. Very good, but with very few exceptions like the complete Hamoton Roads show it would be the same content as the Amiga Book/CD set. I will buy both anyway and if they release the Hampton Roads show complete on Vinyl I will buy this too.

In Greensboro Elvis is wearing the dark blue jumpsuit, in Hampton Roads he's wearing the light blue jumpsuit, in Richmond he's wearing the red jumpsuit and in San Antonio he's wearing a white jumpsuit. If you pay attention during Love Me Tender in the film, Elvis is wearing a different jumpsuit that is only in that brief scene. In a bootleg dvd Elvis is wearing that same jumpsuit when he's in a trailer signing a poster for a handicapped child. I'm curious about the status of that concert, filmed and recorded?

~ I'll be attending the Sony Listening Party in the Guest House Theater in Memphis on August 14, 2022. I'm looking forward to hearing what Ernst Jorgensen has to say in person, and I'm looking forward to hearing several samples from the long-awaited new "Elvis On Tour" CD box set!
TheMemphisFan wrote on August 08, 2022
~ The main attraction of this new "Elvis On Tour" box set is all about the SOUND QUALITY on the 6 CDs. Let's all hope that it doesn't disappoint.

Great TheMemphisFan! Let us know of the details. Last year they provided a link in YouTube for the unboxing of Back In Nashville. Does anyone know if they'll do the same for this year's unboxing.
TheMemphisFan wrote on August 16, 2022
The so-called "SONY Music listening party" was very disappointing. They only played 30 to 40-second fragments of about 8 or 9 different songs. There was no Q & A session. Ernst Jorgensen didn't seem to be as talkative as he usually is, and Jerry Schilling was boring and almost put me to sleep. It wasn't much of an "unboxing" event. -- However, I am looking forward to getting this set from importcds .com in early December.
