Atlanta Weekend '76

October 06, 2020 | Music

AudiRec label is back! In November 2018 we released a thematic box set with 3 Asheville shows from July 22 – 24, 1975. “THE ASHEVILLE MARATHON ’75 was a huge success and this release was immediately sold out. Now we are releasing a similar thematic set dedicated to Elvis great shows in Atlanta 1976. All three Atlanta June ’76 shows were released a very long time ago, but never in such a great sound quality. We have located the original sources recorded by the same person and restored the sound from scratch. All shows were taped with a recorder equipped with two microphones and there is a certain stereo effect making the sound rich and full. The sound of all concerts was re-tuned by professional musician to the correct speed! Hopefully you will enjoy the outcome.
We originally planned to release Atlanta, Dec. 30 1976 show too, but this one will be released very soon by FTD label from soundboard source.
For the first time ever, our release is presented in a deluxe triple digipack with a collection of great images taken in Atlanta, GA, June 4 - 6, 1976.

So enjoy this comprehensive Atlanta trilogy on 3 discs. Do not miss the opportunity to own the ’’ATLANTA WEEKEND ’76“! It is an ultimate release of Elvis' magical June ’76 Atlanta shows!

Nothing new for collectors, but a good idea to combine all three concerts in one 3 CD box. Hope the sound is really restored and sounds better.

Nice idea and for collectors it has its charme. No doubt. Sound is better than on previous outings.

Ciscoking, very curious... Do all 3 shows now sound equally good with the improvements? -- Back in 2007 you wrote about the June 6 show, "The release is a cheap reproduction of the audience recording floating around for years. Not much effort has been made regarding sound."
Walter wrote on October 09, 2020
Don't get fooled. If the sound was acceptable or good, they would've released in three different installments.
