Scope´s Hope – Elvis Sells Out

To be released March 11, 2011: The brandnew BSM Label brings you an audience recording of Elvis Presley´s show in Norfolk, Virginia of July 20, 1975 - 2:30PM (Matinee Performance). The cd has a running time of 79:50 min! The summer tour of 1975, with the exception of the final five city tour of 1976, can easily be considered the last great stand Elvis made. He was healthier, happier, and less distracted by his personal life on stage than he had been in 1973 and 1974.

Back was an Elvis filled with happiness to be touring. He was having a very good time with slightly different setlists, his good ole´TCB band, and the audience. He also pulled out many rare songs, even songs he had never performed live before, and mixed up his set list quite a bit on this summer tour. He was singing with power and inspiration.

Especially in this Norfolk matinee performance he did an extremely powerful version of 'How Great Thou Art' and a rare "Promised Land". So have fun and enjoy the first release by BSM! Every copy of this cd comes with an 20 page booklet full of information regarding the show PLUS an extra poster containing the photo from the front cover of the cd booklet!

Never cared too much for Elvis' live show after 1972, but the 1975 summer shows are standouts of the concert years, I agree he seemed happier and more focused. In fact my favorite show that I saw was in 1975 at the Nassau Col in Uniondale NY. With all these soundboards, etc, where the heck is that show? I have my own personal audience recording, but the tape is cheap!

Steve V, I can't imagine how wonderful it would be to have seen Elvis even once, so to have seen enough performances to have a favourite... you are truly blessed. I hope your soundboard turns up.

Fabulous show! But audience recorded and the announcement says nothing about the sound. So I digged up my 2cdr of this show in the attic of my house: previously released by the Crown label: Big boss man in Norfolk. I think they edited this new release, because I have a 2 cd of this show. I gave it a spin and the sound is quite reasonable, so I stick to own copy. Comes in handy, I need this money for (the very expensive) fuel for my car nowadays.

I was only able to see Elvis in person 3 times & I have to say that his Aug 19, 1974 show at the Hilton was fantastic! He replaced some of the older songs with Down In The Alley, My Baby Left Me & a couple others. I have never, ever forgotten that performance. He certainly did some great shows after 1972 (Aloha comes to mind) but to each his own!
