Due for release on August 24, 2009 in the UK is the four DVD box "The Essential Elvis". The illustrated book features the life, times and music of the King, plus a track-by-track analysis of his studio albums.

The box set includes:

DVD 1: The Early Years

Legendary Elvis guitarist Scotty Moore, Elvis long time drummer DJ Fontana and Elvis loyal backing vocal quartet the Jordanaires come together for the first time to unveil the events behind the scenes during the creation of classics like Hound Dog, Heartbreak Hotel and Love Me Tender. These are the leading musicians who actually worked with Elvis and shared the long term friendship and trust of the King. Also featured are rare interviews with Elvis himself.

DVD 2 :The Rock n Roll Years

This is the inside story of the music which changed the face of rock n roll forever. The priceless first hand insights of Scotty Moore, DJ Fontana, Gordon Stoker and Ray Walker from the Jordanaires are combined with amazing footage from television and radio archives of the King himself. Also featured are the reflections of a leading team of music critics and working musicians capped off by rare radio interviews given by Elvis himself... essential viewing for every Elvis fan.

DVD 3: The Later Years

This is the insiders story of The King and his music as told first-hand by the people who knew Elvis best. Featuring live concert footage from Hawaii in 1973, alongside the first hand reflections of those who knew and worked with The King personally, including musicians Bill Baiz, Larry Strickland and Ronnie Tutt from Elvis band, Joe Guercio Elviss musical director, Loanne Parker the Colonels secretary, road manager Joe Esposito and Sam Thompson, Elvis bodyguard.

DVD 4: Aloha from Hawaii

Elvis live in concert from Hawaii in 1973, featuring See See Rider, Burning Love, You Gave Me A Mountain, Steamroller Blues, My Way, Johnny B. Goode, Blue Suede Shoes, I Cant Stop Loving You, Hound Dog, Fever, Suspicious Minds, Long Tall Sally, Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On and more.
