must be a nice release, probably unaffordable too many people..
One notes the modern song line up. Only one throw away song. What's the content of the other CD? An interview with Joe Tunzi ? ;-)
Good question sitdown68 ! Can hardly believe this one show will be spread over 2 CDs. So untill now the content of the 2nd CD is unknown . Anyone ??
The original Night Fever In Vegas was actually a double CD set and therefore I see no reason why this show can not be spread over two CDs.
OK Iron man, mystery solved ! The reviewer of the in 1996 released "Night Fever in Vegas" wrote: "the only minus of this release is that the show is spliced between 2 discs." I really wonder why they put 16 tracks on disc 1 and 12 (!!!) tracks on disc 2. You see no reason why this show shouln NOT be spread over 2 CDs . That's OK with me. But I see no reason why this show SHOULD be spread over 2 discs. Maybe the package will be more expensive that way, and maybe that's the label's goal.
benny scott, in no way do I try to excuse the producers of the set. From what I remember the show runs a few minutes over 80 minutes. Since most of the fans that are going to purchase this set are running for the complete stuff I believe the producers' intention was to give the complete thing. Besides that 90% of the price of this set will be the book, not the second CD (CDs are not that much expensive)
An unknown label first release is a rerelease and in a book format,no way would i spend what i know this cost on such a show, these are the shows i stay away from, and in my view they could edit this one down to 80 min just take out some of the silly chat,to those who are interested, enjoy!
Hi Iron Man. I see your point and can live with that. I'm sure you're right stating the fans want to have the whole thing. On the other hand, mature_elvis_fan 75's reasoning is not bad at all. Editing by taking out some spoken parts should give the fans the opportunity to hear the concert ( mainly songs ) without to have switch discs. So both of you have a point here. Always El.
I thought the original 2CD set, "Night Fever in Vegas" was of the 8/30/74 3:00am show, not the Midnight show. Is this new release the same show or a different one? Does anyone know?
2kisses&3scarfs : the original set "Night Fever in Vegas" was indeed the midnight-show. According to several ( reliable) other sites there was NO 3:00 am show on August 30, 1974. Only the Dinnershow at 8.15 pm and Midnightshow at 12.00 am. Always El.
Thanks, Benny Scott! I should've known that myself.
These improved re-release are welcome !
The RT of Night Fever is 84:58...so you need 2 discs...the date is the MS..there was no 3 am show..
The show is not bad....but the karate talking is annoying..15 minutes of nothing....he better had sung 5 more songs....
You dont need 2 disc's,you do some clever editing, the karate talk is something i can do without, and wouldnt want to pay for another disc to hear it!
The problem is,..if you edit it ...you get problems..
The producers of CD's such as this are in a no-win situation. When releases have been edited to fit the eighty minute CD format, people complain. This one has been left intact and what happens, people complain.
Not complain just gioving a view, i dont want the show period!!
