Elvis Immortalized On A Bronze Harley

March 09, 2009 | Other

Bruce Rossmeyer, the world's largest Harley-Davidson dealer, unveiled a life-size bronze sculpture of the King at his massive motorcycle complex, Destination Daytona, at the start of the 10-day biker rally. The sculpture was created by Jeff Decker, the official sculptor of Harley. It features a replica of Presley's original 1956 Harley-Davidson. It stands about 5 feet tall, spans 7 feet in diameter and weighs 1,000 pounds. Rossmeyer also owns Graceland Harley-Davidson in Memphis, Tenn., which opened in 2007. The sculpture was unveiled by Billie Mae Smith who dated Elvis in 1955.
