Volume 4 in the Madison import label series "Standing Room Only Tapes", entitled "Sunset Rundown” has been released. The CD comes with a 16 pages booklet and has a running time of 65:08 minutes.
From the original press-release:
"Sunset Rundown" details a unique day, filmed for "Elvis On Tour." At the end of March 1972, MGM's documentary cameras captured Elvis Presley at a rollicking Los Angeles rehearsal at RCA Hollywood. Against a stark background -- no audience -- Presley, the TCB band, and the Stamps Quartet ran down the upcoming tour at the Sunset Boulevard studio with vigor and a few surprises, with selections like "Until It's Time For You To Go," "For The Good Times" and "Burning Love."
Now, one may enjoy the unedited first half of this March 31, 1972 rehearsal -- the second half will comprise Volume 5 of the Standing Room Only Tapes series -- in superb stereo!

Great,I like the design of the recent madison cd's.now do they have the hampton roads show complete,if they do what a way to close out the on tour set!
Madison label is the best !!!
if someone were so inclined to purchase a fine product by the Madison label, what avenue would said person pursue?
I agree, great label and great CD! "Hillcrest Blues" was fantastic, this new rehearsal CD will be at least as good.
Sorry, folks, but I think it is enough to own the FTD release "Elvis On Tour - The Rehearsals". Just my opinion. That's all folks.
For a casual Elvis-fan,maybe. But not for a real,hardcore Elvis-fan.
"Hillcrest Blues" was great as most tracks was unreleased.......however only track 3,15 and 17 are unreleased on this one :( (All others are on 6363 sunset and on tour:the rehersals)
got mine, nice addition but nothing really new except some studio chatter and 3 takes. anyway nice packaging and looking forward to their next release. soundwise not as impressed as hillcrest blues though..
So the sound isnt great? Why in the world did Ftd put on tour rehearsals with material from the Elvis today sessions,i dont get it,when i think collectors label,i think complete sessions, complte rehearsals,i am now just hoping madison has the complete hampton roads show!
once again love this kind of release. everything in one or 2 cds, good for my ipod and my cd player, lol
I hope the next release will be Hampton Roads show !
Well the next release will be the rest of the rehearsal, and yes the hampton roads show complete with great artwork,is what many fans are wanting, madison delivers i just betcha!
