Sounds promising. Could be one of the few post 1972 concerts I would consider.

A classic. Yeh a classic stinker. Don't be suckered into buying this because of You're The reason I'm Living. Remember other songs that were performed without rehersal?

theoldsmuggler: you are completely wrong. Elvis REHEARSED before Vegas march 75 season. He included new or recent stuff And I Love You So, Big Boss Man, It's Midnight, Promised Land, Green Green Grass Of Home, Fairytale, My Boy, Let Me Be There, You're The Reason I'm Living - all these songs were WELL REHEARSED pls some were taken from his forthcoming album and he KNEW THEM and performed excellent. Even You're The Reason I'm Living was REHEARSED performance and NOT an impromptu jam or improvised oddity. Sometimes I wonder how an Elvis fan can be so negative as you are. Isn't it better to listen Paul McCartney instead?

Definitely one of the best shows of this Vegas gig with great song line up and Elvis being in high spirits....all packaged in modern 2008 layout and improved sound....Audioncis quality..a winner..!!

oooh OldScudder again?? well i'm not surprised anymore...Scudder hopes that everyone agrees with him..well dream on buddy.. always negative...and this concert is absolutely wonderful an absolute winner a 100%..i totally agreeing with WayUp. WayUp is so right...and CiscoKing...well said.. great show!

This may be a better show than others but still Elvis was in a rut & needed to get away from Vegas and make some serious studio music again. Speaking of which Wayup, at least McCartney is still doing that and was up for a grammy last year. Im jealous. Id rather have Elvis doing that than raving over another live show.
Jesse Garon Presley wrote on June 10, 2008
Steve V you r right,i know Elvis wasn't liking vegas not so much anymore...that's true but that doesn't take away that this show was indeed great..he still could do it.. and who knows maybe elvis will get a grammy again someday..

upgrading seems to be the lucrative business these days, rather wait for unreleased takes by FTD instead of upgrading sound until you can even hear every bandmember's farts..

This site (and a few others) are for enthusiasts of Elvis record and CD collecting and you could argue that we are in a new golden age of imports. Why log on here just to go negative and use potty talk about releases that obviously are a labor of love on the part of hard-core fans? Look folks, if there was a lot more out there, I'd bet we'd be going straight for it. There's no changing the fact that the man hasn't seen the inside of a recording studio in 30+ years - for some reason! Until further notice, let us celebrate what the fine import labels (and yes, FTD on the main label) are putting out for hungry-fans - that is, those who are still actually hungry for quality Elvis releases, which apparently does not include everyone. But the upgrades that have come our way from the likes of Madison and now Audionics (now paired with Fort Baxter) have pleased the many fans of high-quality imports. I join those who look forward to "Back With a Bang!"

I totally agree with u Greg Nolan very well said!! Looking forward to all the quality import releases i'm with you buddy

Author Stein Erik Skar stated that during this Vegas season, "(Elvis) voice was impressively strong - he paid more attention to the songs and he talked less than during the last seasons in Las Vegas." And, "Elvis' choice of songs also showed that he also felt on great form vocally. He had never included so many musical pearls together - and almost all nostalgia, the quick renditions of songs from the 50s, was gone." I'm looking foward to this quality release. I really appreciate the comments made by Greg Nolan. I wholeheartedly agree with his point of view. I couldn't have said it better.

A must-have import-CD ! It's also heartwarming to know that people with a very common sense like Greg Nolan exist ! ( there are ,thanks heaven, some more who regularly can be read on this site )Well said and stated Greg, i'm 200% with you. Always El.

Good posts,Gregory! We all know that this is a great concert and Audionics/Fort Baxter never disappointed me. They offer QUALITY. The constant negative comments by 'theoldscatter' are simply laughable. Sometimes i have a feeling that he belongs to a rival import label or something like that. This would explain this strenuous negative propaganda.
theoldscudder wrote on June 11, 2008
Wayup Who gave you that handle? I guess the companies that you are buying this stuff from. Because that's where they are sticking it to you ....way up. Just kidding. I will not be listening to McCartney any time soon. Never cared for his solo stuff. Will however play Elvis Country & maybe a Beatles cd tonight. GeertFromNowhereICareToBe You caught me. I'll fess up. I am an operative infiltrating this site from a rival record company. You see we want to keep Elvis's record sales down. We will accomplish our nefarious goals despite you're feeble attemp to stop it. Rember when you watch TV tonight no one is conspiring against Elvis or you. Please lay off the vodka. It may do damage to that remaining brain cell that you still have left.

I don't have any previous versions of this and they're probably not available anyway so I will be getting this. The bootleggers just seem to be getting it right (most of the time!).

Nice looking, but all in all Elvis time on live runs was really Short, and over the Live career the same songs just keep reappearing with not much change. because after 1973 studio time dwindled and he went into a down ward spiral thus the stage shows really had nothing more to off except Elvis himself and he was no longer at the top of his game.

What exactly is legendary about this show? You don't hear people referring to the 'legendary 22nd March 1975 midnight show' do you? Inclusion of a one off performed song?
GeertFromNl wrote on June 13, 2008
Fans are very often referring to the legendary Profile box-sets. These famous box-sets contains altogether 8 concerts recorded between 1973 and 1977. Most fans are agree that this show from march 1975 is FAR the best of them. THE WHOLE SHOW IS COOL,not only "You're The Reason I'm Living". Case closed. If you don't like it,then don't buy it. Buy the latest 'greatest hits' compilation or a Christmas CD.
John4126 wrote on June 13, 2008
Geert from NI - 'Legendary' and 'Classic' are words often banded about by fans when in reality mediocre is more appropriate. I have the profile box sets to which you are referring to. The blurb for this cd talks about the legendary midnight show on Mar 22 1975. What, apart from appearing on the profile set makes this particular concert legendary? I mean Houston, Madison square gardens, Boston Gardens, Aloha from Hawaii, these are 'legendary' gigs- but this one???!!! I venture that in a period when Elvis failed to deliver consistent quality performances this one is ok. Nothing more. That reminds me when is the 'Classic' album 'Love Letters' going to pop through my letterbox?!!!

Oven Egeland wrote this on his site: "In my point of view this is one of the most enjoying concerts ever held by Elvis. He sounds relaxed, harmonic and is totally focused on singing. His voice is stable as early 70's! The concert also has a nice line-up, with 'Fairytale', 'And I Love You So', 'Green Green Grass Of Home' and most importantly 'You're The Reason I'm Living' among others." I completely agree with him.

John - I don't think the press release overstated a thing. It's an *upgrade*- maybe that doesn't mean anything to you but to those who like such improvements (and can afford it) they "never look back." And certain shows over time take on the flavor of being "classics" in the eyes of fans just by virtue of being in a now rare, early import. In many cases, I also am like those who missed some of the originals so I know that I am getting a chance to get the best version of a long-out-of-print / hard-to-find import. What's to complain about in either case? And we all know that what can be done with audio in 2008 is way ahead of what came in the '80s and '90s. Plus, we are now find the elite labels like "Southern Comfort," "Madison," Audionics," and a few others always deliver, well, a true "bang for the buck"! It's a good time to be an Elvis fan and most of us are happy to criticize where needed but these are total gems. Save the carping and try it on for good measure. As they used to say in the old American TV commericials, "take the Pepsi Challenge!" I doubt you'll be sending it back in disgust!

Just got it! It's a treat, as we've come to expect automatically from Audionics, now coupled with the legendary "Fort Baxter"! Talk about a "Marvel Team-Up" - this is more proof that we are truly living in the golden age of Elvis imports. Sure, fast becoming redundant prior (now inferior) sets like "Profile" will always be legendary but we now know that there are a series of upgrade discs that are the true "go-to" discs when you want the best sound and presentation! Bravo, for fixing the tape speed and restoring various glitches and giving us a bonanza of a package! "Bang!" indeed!
