John Wilkinson contacted ElvisMatters telling them how he's doing and thanking the fans for their support in these heavy times. Here's an email that John wants to share:
"Hi Peter. Hearing your voice on the phone gave me a much needed boost to my spirits! I've gotten very positive response to my decision to take a year or more off. I'll miss the active participation in the Elvis world, but it's finally time for Johnny to take care of Johnny! The very thought of cancer is scary no matter what kind it is. knowing that you love and care about me so much gives me a lot of strength. I've been through a lot in my life and come out a winner; I expect to do the same with this!"

get well john as with elvis most of us fans rather see you live an dtake care of yourself than to work your tail off and not take care of yourself. i know i dont speak for all elvis fans or john wilkinson fans but i know everyone prolly feels the same but get well john we fans will always be here clammering for the day when we hear you play early morning rain once again liek no one else can play it you rule
