Elvis Presley's Gold Cadillac Sold On eBay

December 12, 2007 | Other
The King's 1965 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible has seemingly been sold on eBay for at least $119,900, having been flogged by US motorcar firm Daniel Schmitt & Co. Elvis himself co-designed the car , which until recently was the property of the Elvis Presley Museum in Las Vegas.

It's finished with over 40 coats of Gold Pearlescent paint (which hopefully means it'll survive the odd scratch), but it also comes with a poignant tale. Elvis never actually got to drive the car, as he died before it was finished.

Does it go though? Yes, it runs smoothly, and is still in its original condition, complete with gold discs mounted in the cover, and guitar-shaped speakers.

Oh, how convenient that he died before he could gasp the words "Hey, wait now, I co-designed the what'now ?"

I really hate to say it BUT it looks like a Pimpmobile from the 1970's but i guess it'll get lots of laughs from lots folks mostly from the guy who pockets the profits as the new owner drives off in it ha ha ha.

Most Elvis fans look to ElvisNews.com as the ultimate source for correct news, so it's very saddening when ElvisNews post gibberish, without research, as a fact; such as "Elvis himself co-designed the car".

If you look closer at ebay's pictures, you will see that in this 1965 Cadillac ELvis hang some pretty cool little giutars with his picture from 1969 (hehehe), also one with him on stage in 70's. Nice :-) Now, please show me a picture of ELvis in this car, I know he would love his pictures from 70's in 1965.

Oh give me a break. Elvis wouldn't be caught dead in this old car in 1977. Are you saying it took them over 12 years to finish it? 1965 to 1977? Or did Elvis get a '65 caddy in '77 and start to re-design it? Come on. Have you seen the cars Elvis drove in the 70s? He favored the Stutz Blackhawk. No old caddys. I'm sure its a nice car, but I doubt Elvis had anything to do with it. Maybe its a car that Elvis gave to someone in 1965, and they later sold it, and the new owners had it re-done, and claimed it was Elvis'.

Sounds like another scam. Elvis finishing a 1965 car in 1977? Yeah right. Man there are a lot of suckers out there. Maybe one of the mafia will comment on this.
