Famed guitarist James Burton was slightly injured yesterday in a wreck in Shreveport. Burton, 68, was driving on Murphy Street when another driver hit his truck at the intersection at Pete Harris Drive. Both drivers said they had the green light, police said. Burton and the other driver both were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Burton, who has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, has played with some of the biggest stars in music. Among them: Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson, Emmylou Harris and Roy Orbison.
Update October 20, 2007:
Elvis Matters received good news from Shreveport, Louisiana; James Burton is doing fine. His wife Louise emailed them and said that we did not have to worry about James: he's OK. His recording and concert schedule remains intact.

Gotta be careful at those intersections out there... In Sweden they have this roundabout construction frenzy, wich makes it more safe, but anoying as hell to drive in. Anyway, hoping for quick a recovery for you James.

Best wishes and prayers to one of the main cogs of Elvis' great (and still under-rated) '70s sound! Rock on, JB!
