The Top 5 didn't change compared to last month, but Elvis Is Back! is getting closer and closer to the #1 spot. From the July releases "Raised On Rock" moved up into the Top 30 and "I Sing All Kinds" is on #40. Even "Easy Come, Easy Go" is on the list.
1 (1) The Jungle Room Sessions (2000)
2 (2) Elvis Is Back! (2005)
3 (3) Nashville Marathon (2002)
4 (4) Memphis Sessions (2001)
5 (5) Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis (2004)

"I Sing All Kinds" is on #40.. that says enough about the (lack of) taste of the contemporary Elvis listener...

Apart from the jungle room sessions I can't argue with the top 5.
Jerome, give a good example and start voting yourself!
yes that really makes a big difference. I love to analyze or criticize but I Sing All Kinds" is on #40, says it all.. I spare my vote for this kind of polls..
Ah, you're that type of guy... complaining but not contributing! Well, thinking that "I Sing All Kinds" must be in a Top 5 of FTDs says enough...
for your knowledge Lex, I've been contributing but somehow everytime titles such as Clambake seem to win it from good old 70 recordings, and one suggestion for you Lex: Have Fun in Acapulco, don't have too much monkey business., and don't bake too much clams.. I 'll stick to songs which (I Know) Elvis was convinced to record.. (and somehow many of them are on I sing all Kinds). Hmm strange, does this 40th place have to do with a lack of understanding regarding Elvis his music or do some people rather like his sountracks??
All I can say is that complaining and not contributing will never work. The bottom of the list is pretty close to each other (at this very moment "All Kinds" is even one spot up ;-)) and indeed to me it is ridiculous too that Clambake is that high... but the same goes for "Spring Tours", "Too Much Monkey Business" and "Closing Night"... but obviously others think different.
AMEN to that!

Jerome: It sure would be dull if everyone liked the same thing or were only allowed to like what someone else thought we should. I do understand Elvis and his music. And yes, I do rather enjoy his soundtraks. Too each their own.

Jerry I'm with you all the way. Personal tastes differ and if we all went with the trends who knows what crap we would be listening to! (crap in my opinion could be a masterpiece to others and I respect their right to like it). If you ask 100 Elvis fans for their opinion on what are his best recordings, you will probably get 100 different answers. I like "I sing all kinds" a lot but I wouldn't have it in the top 10! "Elvis Is Back" sure deserves to be high in the list. But I can't blame anyone for liking "Easy Come, Easy Go" or any other soundtrack for that matter. They are all part of his music...
