The Nevada Commission on Tourism will launch new national ads this summer that feature Las Vegas entertainment icons "Elvis" and the Blue Man Group enjoying outdoor recreation at Lake Tahoe. The ads will run in midsummer and fall, as the mountain paradise recovers from economic impacts of a devastating wildfire, Lt. Gov. Brian K. Krolicki announced Wednesday.
The ads, to run on television and in travel magazines, are the latest in the tourism agency's award-winning "icon" series that portrays Las Vegas show-business figures enjoying popular recreational activities in other parts of the state and reveal Nevada's two different worlds -- neon and nature. Show-business icons pictured unexpectedly in natural settings catch people by surprise and deliver the message that Nevada offers a lot more besides dazzling entertainment
The Elvis commercial, which features red-caped Elvis characters mountain biking on Lake Tahoe's spectacular Flume Trail, will begin airing next month on national cable television including the Travel Channel, Discovery, Discovery Science and Fox News.

lol i love it thats the best ad i have seen in a very longtime tjhough they couldve used a picture of elvis riding the tandem bike with maybe wayne newton, frank sinatra or tom jones on the back with tom jones saying "whats new pussy cat" and elvis saying whatever is new in vegas in reply

I like it. It should be Elvis first, Frank Sinatra, Wayne Newton, etc. (But, not in a jumpsuit). I still would like a copy of this but, I do wish it was a better likeness.

Yea, yea, yea, Elvis (jumpsuit & all) is always associated with Vegas. And that's a good thing. However, I just wish that for once we could see an ad about him in something other than a jumpsuit. It's like people have forgotten he wore real clothes at one time & looked damned terrific in those threads!

I think it's a good ad. The TV commercial is not so good, but this print ad is. Of course they must have Elvis in a Jumpsuit. It's LAS VEGAS!! They want the casual customer to recognize who it is and associate Elvis with Vegas. Nice job.
