Elvis Presley License Plates Could Be Scrapped

June 20, 2007 | Other
Not enough drivers are buying an Elvis Presley specialty license plate. Sales of the plate benefit the Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, but if at least 250 more fans don't order those tags the design could be scrapped.

The Regional Medical Center needs a required 1,000 purchasers to justify the mass production of the design, which shows the King in a white suit strumming a white guitar. Hospital officials said they need those last 250 fans to buy the plate before the June 30 deadline.

The hospital is hoping a series of radio ads in Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga will convince those last few fans.

The hospital estimated it would receive roughly $20 in revenue for each plate sold.

I would have bought one but the guitar is the wrong colour. Plus, he's not wearing a cape.

This is not funny, because the sales go for a charity organisation. Sad, if they would be scrapped. How can we get them to Germany so they can be bought here? Maybe it would help out???

Stanton I agree with you but on another hand I find it hard not to kid it a bit... As far as the plate and its design these guy can do (much) better than that no doubt...

i find nothing funny about elvis not being able to sell the one thousand plates required to make this project work. i think it's something we should all be concerned about.
