Elvis Songwriter Involved In Shooting Incident

Songwriter Billy Joe Shaver, well known country songwriter co-writer of "You Asked Me To", has been linked to a bar shooting in Lorena, Texas.

Reports say he has not been charged with anything, nor will the police confirm any details, while a man remains in hospital after being shot in the face on the back porch of Papa Joe's Texas Saloon.

Billy Joe Shaver has had a troubled life the last few years, but is acclaimed for writing songs for Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Krisofferson as well as Elvis Presley and is releasing a Greatest Hits album this week.
