maybe it's better FTD only announces in witch month the next cd's will be released. I believe that most of the FTD's were not released on time.

This is actually quite 'usual' 99% of my FTD's i get middle of the month that they say 'released on 1st' so reality for MOST of us certainly isn't until 2 weeks AFTER 'official' release date-fastest you can ever get 1 is to go in the shop when the dealer has recieved them-that day.

The FTD CDs.. seem.. to be.. "always delayed ".. However, its worth waiting for... but I hate waiting !! (LOL)

Well, they're not always delayed. I remember some FTD cd's even being released earlier: e.g. Elvis At The International was released in the week before Christmas, although it was announced for January 1st.

Me thinks that maybe they're trying to bring too much product out all at the same time. Perhaps if, when a multiple release like this is planned, it would be better to spread the titles over 2 or 3 months to take some of the pressure off FTD. It would also mean we could spread the payments!

Theo they did that for a few holidays, proving that they can get them out on time or even early when they really try,i agree that there putting out releases at a record pace, but remember the main label how almost ceased any real new Elvis releases(new material) so now they can put it on ftd and get more money, the book release is going for around $90 to $100 every were ive looked, and then cd sites that usually have great prices are asking $150 and up? the chepest ive seen this book from ftd is from elvis.com, but its just too bad that they refuse to put any packaging around your cd's when they ship them, they are placed in a box with no bubblewrap or anything,i have many many times gotten my whole order damaged, and they give a refund only for the items and not the postage paid or the reutrn postage you have to spend to send it back to them,if you order from them dont be surprised when your order arrives damaged,i say this to the fans who are thinking of ordering from them,i was told through email that they have a low supply of bublewrap, yes thats what i was told,it would be nice to have a site were we could get these at reasonable prices, and books only addd the cost expecially if you order outside your country!

To day I got a nice advertisement from our friends at ElvisMatters (.com)... 95 Euro (about $125 I think) for all 3 upcoming FTDs (and even as low as 80 for gold members of the fanclub). I don't know if they mail outside Holland/ Belgium, but I guess so... ask them I should say.

lex, thats a price i can deal with,i cant understand why these books are going for over $100,i mean who pays that? there no way there paying anything near these, you also have to know that postage can get very high when u buy outsdie if your country, and some of sites wont ship the book unless its in there country!,i thank you for the info
mature_elvis_fan75 wrote on April 05, 2007
Are you saying we shouldnt want the best price or that people shouldnt tell us the best price, all i know that $100 + for a cd and book is absurd!

Low supply of bubblewrap? Where are they getting it from the Middle East? With the prices FTD charges they should be able to package correctly. That is one of the most silly answers I've heard in a long time!

Steve that is what they told me,word for word,i went to the site today and did the live help thing, the guy told me that he would ask his supervisor who would ask the manager in shipping,on the other hand cd universe now places all my orders in a box and gives me extra padding, its amazing the lack of customer service at some sites, for some its hard to get ahold of a good place that has good service and decent prices,as with cd universe ,great customer service, but there ftd's are for some reason expensive, the thing that gets me with elvis.com is they give you no refund on the original shipping or the return postage, wonder if they ship those glasses etc with no bubblewrap?hmmm

I don't buy book/CD releases anyway. Prices are too high for me. I have the money for it but I will not buy it. About the delay: I can easy wait a few more days, no problem.

I ain't gonna buy the combo either - and I've read on several places that some (perphaps many) Elvis fans are starting to skip the combos completely

I agree no one can survive without making a profit, but no one can survive when some places charge you 5 times what they pay!
