April FTD May Contain Multitracks From 1972

December 30, 2006 | Music
According to sources near the FTD headquarter, the April release of this collector's label could contain multitrack studio recordings from 1972. A working title is not known yet. Also, there's a good possibility that FTD also releases a deluxe package of a Classic Album, or a movie soundtrack.

Could it be Girls, Girls, Girls or even Roustabout - the movie soundtrack?? I wonder how they - FTD - are going to deal with movie soundtracks like Easy Come, Easy Go and Wild in The Country and Flaming Star??? Classisc albums? We need'em all, so just bring them on - :) And the multitracks from 1972 sound ok to me. And by the way: We need a new exciting remix to put the big E. back on the dance floors in 2007. Let yourself go??

As they still cannot locate any further outtakes for Roustabout, King Creole, Kissin Cousins and Girls Girls Girls, FTD have indicated they might pad those CD's out with the Mono mixes as well as the stereo ones - something EMI have done with several of their re-issues.

I would guess Pot Luck as the next in the classic album series since they have done the prior early 60's studio albums. Or maybe 'ELVIS', his second LP. Hopefully not another Clambake.

I really hope it's 'Pot Luck' we've already had three early sixties studio albums and 'Pot Luck' will complete the set.

I also agree :-) please let it be Pot Luck :-D

Multi-track STUDIO recordings??? Unless I'm reading this wrong, there just isn't enough outtakes let alone songs from the March sessions after "6363" for a complete FTD project. I take it that they'll be used as bonus tracks tagged on the end of the LIVE Vegas cuts from February of which I hope will feature as the bulk of its content with the inclusion of the previously released songs, eg. 'Its Impossible' for good measure because these live outtakes have been barely touched on until recently. I think they should stick with "American Trilogy" as the title.

Maybe they mean multitrack "live" recordings from 1972, I know they have a wealth of unreleased live-material from this year. But as for studio-multitracks, I can only hope they´ve located some cool stuff then. Thanks FTD, keep em coming this new year!

FTD have to be commended on everything they do. OK - the 1976 New Years Eve show was very poor sound wise, but I have been more than happy with the majority of the releases. I happen to like the 'Clambake' sessions, as the outtakes of Hey, Hey, Hey provide a surprising gem, as we hear Elvis stumbling over the silly lyrics - I even like the song! To each his own, as they say. I thought all of the 1972 studio recordings were multitrack anyway. Surely it must mean multitrack concert recordings?

As far as 1972 the best project would be MSG... This is from far my favorite album and it would be a fine release 30 years after Elvis passed away. By the way Rusty and MarkE Pot Luck is my next favorite album (with Aloha)... Let's hope Ernst and SONY/BMG read our comments.

Boris have you gotten the japan mini sleeve edition of madison sqare garden?,i dont see the sound being topped on that release, its way better than the original released cd version of this show, with that said, a upgrade of the alternate aloha would be welcomed by me as i prefer it over the original,as they made a terriable mess of the cd version of alternate aloha!

Yeh, they probably mean 1972 multitrack live recordings? Sounds great. And then for july 2007 of course the Nashville 1971 recordings, like: "early morning rain,""we can make the morning", "I'm leaving", "Love me love the life", "Fools rush in" and all the others. A wonderful start of the summer that would be.

Please another movie soundtrack we haven't had one out since July of 2006 with Clambake. No offense but Clambake is not one of Elvis' best soundtracks. I'm guessing either Wild In The Country or G.I. Blues due to rumors and common sense. I wish it was one of the main three (Roustabout,Girls!,Girls!, Girls! or Kissin' Cousins), but if they don't have enough alternate takes what can you do!

Speaking of those 71 recordings, well we finally get the complete studio jam of dont think twice? maybe at the end of the cd,i know ernst has said he didnt care for it or that just because it keeps going ,doesnt mean it gets betterm, well thats his oppion and id like to see on the 71 disc,i also look forward to the live 72 cd,always glad to have multitrack recordings!
