Is somebody out there who's crazy enough to pay 350€ or even more for a book (check amazon) ? I'd really love to have this special edition, but the price is a cheek.

Wait till after Christmas, maybe it'll be cheaper in the sales, plus all those editions that will probably turn up on eBay.

I still want to know what the difference is between this book Wertheimer's 1979 book "Elvis '56: In the Beginning".

GeeBee, I would venture that like any 1979 version of any Elvis recording, that they have somehow beefed up or upgraded the material, either on better paper or slightly different text or layout, etc. I 'll be in the market for this as the Wertheimer pix are just phenomenal shots! Jesper: that's pretty harsh! So what happened to those other guys?

400 dollars at Amazon.com! These are pictures we have seen 100's of times. Ok so maybe he threw in a few new ones, and the book is presented nicer, big deal. I feel used & abused being an Elvis fan lately. Sorry Al, this stinks.

Dear Santa :-) What a photographer! Alfred's amazing book "Elvis 56' " left us all screaming for more! His latest book is a must have. There's a story on an Elvisblog that he went for a ride on Elvis's motorbike! The photos we missed :-( But, wait, maybe, just maybe there is an Elvis fan somewhere with a snap of Elvis and Alfred riding away from Audubon Drive?
