From the EPE site: Hayward, Calif. – Graceland Cellars has unveiled new packaging for its line of premium California wines featuring Elvis Presley® imagery. Included in the new packaging lineup are All Shook Up™ California Brut Champagne, 2004 Velvet Elvis Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, 2003 Etched Elvis California Cabernet Sauvignon, and a three-bottle Commemorative Party Pack.

“Our award-winning design team has brought together contemporary design techniques with classic imagery to create an impressive new packaging line that showcases Elvis in uniquely innovative ways,” said Scott Cahill, CEO of Signature Wines, producer of Graceland Cellars. “Combined with high quality, award-winning California wines, the new line appeals to Elvis fans and wine enthusiasts alike.”

Graceland Cellars’ newest product, All Shook Up California Brut Champagne, features a lively embossed gold foil Elvis striking his classic “toe stand” pose set against a contrasting black background. A gold foil capsule “signed” by Elvis completes the packaging, giving it a festive, yet elegant look.

“‘All Shook Up’ is a quality California sparkling wine with a packaging design that is at once cool and sophisticated,” said Cahill. “It is perfect for celebrating Vegas-style or toasting with friends at a chic New Year’s bash.”

Two of Graceland Cellars’ most prized new packaging creations are 2003 Etched Elvis California Cabernet Sauvignon and 2004 Velvet Elvis Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. These premium California wines depict the rock ’n’ roll legend in two intimate portraits that capture the early days of his career. Released this year for the first time, Etched Elvis features a striking red and black laser-etched and hand-painted image of Elvis singing soulfully into a vintage microphone. Velvet Elvis (sold only in 1.5 Liter magnums) features a velvet-textured label with a touching image of Elvis performing in his ’68 Comeback Special and comes encased in a sleek black and purple velvet-lined box.

“The packaging design for these wines captures the spirit of Elvis in never-before-seen ways,” said Cahill. “They are also outstanding California Cabernets and promise to be some of our most popular selling wines.”

For those having trouble choosing just one “Elvis wine,” Graceland Cellars offers a new convenient three bottle Commemorative Party Pack, which features three popular award-winning wines, each showcasing a different Elvis era. Included in the Party Pack are Graceland Cellars 2006 San Diego International Wine Competition gold medal winner 2004 Blue Suede Chardonnay plus two additional medal winners: 2003 The King Cabernet Sauvignon and 2004 Jailhouse Red Merlot.

“Like all of our new packaging, the ‘Party Pack’ adds a little fun to the experience of enjoying a glass of fine wine,” said Cahill. “It also helps consumers quickly and easily choose a selection of quality, versatile California wines. It’s all part of our mission to make wine more interesting and accessible to consumers.”

“The packaging design for these wines captures the spirit of Elvis in never-before-seen ways,” . . . How crass.
