Barry Manilow will cover Elvis' "Can't Help Falling in Love" from "Blue Hawaii" (1961) on his next album which consists of songs from the 1960s. This is Manilow's third Elvis cover. He also rcorded "If I Can Dream" and "Are You Lonesome Tonight?".

The only performer that has ever done justice to a cover of "I Can't Help Falling in Love" is Michael Buble (Canadian, eh). It will be interesting to hear Manilow's version.

Alma Cogan did a nice version in the early sixties, and obviously Andy Williams had a big hit with the song. Brenda Lee sang a nice version on tour in the early nineties, which she dedicated to Elvis. I hated the cover versions by The Stylistics and UB40! I look forward to hearing Barry Manilow's version, he treats classic songs with the respect they deserve.

Darren Hayes (Savage Garden) does a great version of Can't Help Falling in Love on the bonus CD that came with his 2002 album 'Spin'. I hear he is a fan of the King - what good taste he has.
