EPE Licenses New Gold-plated Records

July 11, 2006 | Other
From a press release on the EPE site: California Gold is proud to introduce four new limited edition framed 24KT gold-plated records commemorating the 50th Anniversaries of Elvis Presley's first four number one singles. The first four titles in what will be a continuing series are "Heartbreak Hotel," "Hound Dog," "Don't Be Cruel," and "Love Me Tender."

All four records celebrate their 50th anniversaries in 2006. Each beautifully framed and matted presentation features a gold record that has been etched with "The Number One Singles" on the top of the record and a reproduction of Elvis' signature on the bottom of the record.

An individually numbered text plate and an image from Graceland's archives are also included in the frame along with the "Number One Singles" logo printed onto the matting itself. These remarkable tributes are a must have for Elvis fans.

A must have for Elvis fans?! No thanks. I can live without these Gold Plated stuff, especially if they cost a fortune to obtain. What I really can't live without are proper SPECIAL EDITIONS of "Elvis - That's The Way It Is", "Elvis On Tour", "This Is Elvis" and the complete (remastered to perfection of course) 50's TV Shows. How about that EPE?

We should be fair to EPE. They don't have Elvis On Tour etc. What they do have is the 68 Special and the Aloha. They have done an outstanding job on both of those!!!

You people really need to stop bitching about EPE not supplying you with things to which they don't own the rights (EOT etc.). They don't own it. They can't release it. Enuff already!!

How about the Elvis In Concert TV Special? I think they own that. Elvis was not at his best, but I feel it should be released anyway, or at least through FTD for us fans. A nice version can be put together without the annoying fan interviews.
