Sillerman After Riviera Hotel?

June 18, 2006 | Other
According to an update from Elvis World's Bill Burk the owner of EPE, Bob Sillerman, is still "very much in the hunt" to buy the Riviera Hotel on Vegas' Strip as part of his planned Elvis presence which, we have been told, would still be "a couple of years away" if it were started on today. He quotes a "source in Las Vegas, who has a strong inside informant".

I was in Vegas last December and spoke to the people at the Elvis-O-Rama museum (which is cool!) and they told me: In August 2006, they will permanently close. EPE bought them out and did not want ANY competition. Also -- EPE was looking at possibly buying the Hard Rock Cafe Casino & Resort to build an Elvis themed resort. The Riviera makes more sense: it's on the strip and Hard Rock is not. I am suprised it has taken THIS long for EPE to come up with an Elvis resort in Viva Las Vegas.
