Bill Who?

January 16, 2006 | People
Recently Bill Lynn, who claimed to have played drums for Elvis Presley, died. Lynn claimed to have played drums on the 1960 song "It's Now or Never" and in movies. We contacted Ernst Jorgensen because the name Bill Lynn can't be found in his books. His reply was: "Never heard of him."

He did played drums as a movie extra in "Easy Come Easy Go" and "Speedway".

By watching him in the movies, I think he was a fake. No doubt he was with Elvis, but as a musician I doubt it. R.I.P. Bill Lynn

according to session notes, from 1960 t0 1968, elvis used d.j. fontana and buddy harman on drums. between the two, they split all the songs. in 1969 during elvis's memphis sessions at american studios, elvis used gene chrisman to handle all the drumming duties. no mention of a bill lynn.

I read a aninterview with that guy Lynn in a Russian magazine. He claimed he was Elvis' friend and drummr, but he gave no clues when he was Elvis' drummer. Actually that article was the only time I heard about him till today. If that's a fake that's really a weird one
