Ten music legends will stand together in Bakersfield, Calif. - in bronze. The dedication of Buck Owens' Legends in Bronze will take place May 25 at Owens' Crystal Palace, the 75-year-old singer-musician said Tuesday at the 40th Academy of Country Music Awards.
"Of all the things I've done in my career, May 25th will be my biggest contribution," Owens said. The larger-than-life statues were created by Bill Rains.
The honorees include Owens, Hank Williams Jr., Bob Willis, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, George Strait and Garth Brooks.
Brooks said he planned to be in Bakersfield for the unveiling and hoped some of the others being honored would also attend.
