Presley's Gold Cadillac Moved

February 25, 2001 | Other
Elvis Presley's 1960 gold Cadillac limousine gets a new home on Wednesday (today, February 14). Shortly after daybreak, it was hoisted three stories in the air into the new Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. Also being airlifted that morning was Webb Pierce's 1962 Pontiac convertible, which is studded with dozens of silver dollars and has real six-shooters for door handles. The items have been in storage since the old Hall of Fame closed in December, to prepare for the move into the new structure, which opens May 18.
