Elvis Presley’s Graceland And Elvis Presley’s Memphis

July 30, 2001 | Other
Ross Television Productions, with full cooperation and assistance from EPE has produced two special programs. One is Elvis Presley’s Graceland for Discovery Channel. The other is Elvis Presley’s Memphis for the Travel Channel.

Elvis Presley’s Graceland is a visit to Graceland and its related attractions, plus nearby Elvis Presley’s Heartbreak Hotel and Elvis Presley’s Memphis restaurant/nightclub on Beale Street. An entertaining and informative tour of these properties, featuring lots of Elvis photography and home movies, interviews with friends, fans and Graceland/EPE staff. This show is expected to reach new audiences for Elvis and be of great interest to fans who have not yet made the trip to Memphis to see it all in person. However, even long-time Elvis fans who are highly informed and have visited here often will find this program exciting as well. A very special feature is a behind-the-scenes look at the work of the archival staff of Graceland, including a visit to the archival storage facilities where all the Elvis treasures not currently displayed are cared for. Footage from Elvis Week 2000 is also included. The one-hour show’s world premiere on Discovery Channel is set for 8:00 PM (ET/PT) Wednesday, August 15, 2001 in the USA. Check your local listings in the USA and in other countries where the channel is carried. If you miss the first airing, don’t worry. It will have multiple airings over the next couple of years.

While working with EPE for the Graceland program, Ross Productions also produced Elvis Presley’s Memphis for the Travel Channel. This program takes viewers all over the city of Memphis to Elvis-related sites, including Sun Studio, Beale Street, Humes High School, Lauderdale Courts, Libertyland / Memphis Fairgrounds, and other locations. It includes stops at Graceland and the other EPE properties. This one-hour show premieres on the Travel Channel at 10:00 PM (ET/PT) Tuesday, August 14, 2001. Check your local listings in the USA and in other countries where the channel is carried. If you miss the first airing, don’t worry. It will have multiple airings over the next couple of years.
