April 10, 2002 | Other
Although there's an economic recession in the US, but quality Elvis collectibles are hotter than ever. Just Kids Nostalgia offered the collection of John Diesso at public auction on April 2, 2002, and prices were strong across the entire 500-lot sale, with many items realizing record prices. The sale opened with a rare 1956 Elvis board game that reached $3429 against a pre-sale estimate of $1000-2000 (All prices quoted include the 10% buyer's fee). The prices for items produced during Elvis' Las Vegas years were very strong. Menus sold for as much as $850, and an appearance poster from a 1970's event at the International Hotel realized $2296 against a pre-sale estimate of $500-$600.
