In the U.K. Radio 2 is to broadcast new shows about stars including Elvis Presley and The Rolling Stones next year. A four-part series called Elvis will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the star's death in 2002. The Story Of The Stones will celebrate 40 years of the band. Transmission dates for each series are yet to be confirmed.
In Ireland Martin Clancy's Elvis Presley documentary which covers Elvis in the 50's, 60's and 70's will air on the 1st January 2002, at 11:00 am (GMT) on WLRFM, this can be listened to by logging onto www.wlrfm.com . This Elvis documentary which features Larry Geller, Donna Presley and Bill Burk was nominated and highly commended in the Irish Excellence in Broadcasting Awards in December.
