Cover Art Elvis And Tom Jones CD

April 16, 2005 | Music
Here is the cover art of the free CD from the UK newspapet the Mirror. It contains 20 tracks by Elvis and Tom Jones. It contains 12 tracks by Elvis according to the information we found on eBay. The "Volume 1" on the cover tells us that there probably will be another CD with Elvis (and Tom Jones).

Heartbreak Hotel (Little Rock 1956) / Good Rockin' Tonight (SUN) / Blue Suede Shoes (Live - Tupelo / Little Rock?) / That's All Right (SUN) / Hound Dog - with blues reprise (Live, not Hayride) / I Don't Care If The Sun Don't Shine (SUN) / Long Tall Sally (Live) / Blue Moon Of Kentucky (SUN) / Baby Le't Play House (Live) / Maybellene (Hayride) / Tweedly Dee (Haride) / I Was The One (Live - not Hayride).

The cover you are looking at is the front section of a double sided hinged card sleeve, the 2nd half being empty for the Tom Jones CD tomorrow. However, Mr Jones gets his own cover with no mention of Elvis – pity we have to have Jones' name spoiling the half which actually is the Elvis-only section.. (You'll see what I mean more clearly if you have the cover yourself!)

Why is the question. Why not a picture of Tom Jones and Elvis toghether on the cover. There are pictures of them together which would be cool. And why did they pick those Elvis songs not that I dont like them but why not songs that Tom and Elvis both sung. Why? If you gonna put out a product put a good one out the fans will want. There is too much Elvis stuff to buy this cheap product. Just someone else out to make a fast buck.

You must remember we are getting bomb-barded with these free Elvis CD's because the material on it is above copyright control - which I think is a shame because as each year passes more and more Elvis songs will be de-valued and made 'through-away' In 2007 we will get cheap nasty cd's with any of the 1956 classics and so it will go on . . . .

Volume one is all Elvis and volume 2 in todays Sunday paper is all Tom Jones (live versions) of his hits. Not essential but a nice collectors piece.
