Elvis, Scotty and Bill drove to Cleveland with Bob Neal to play their first date outside the South. They made stops at various radio stations along the way, in hopes of getting subsequent airplay.

Elvis performed at the Louisiana Hayride, Municipal Auditorium, Shreveport. Elvis sung for the first time on the Hayride Heartbreak Hotel. According to Scotty, the audience exploded like never before.

February 25, 1957

Louis Armstrong was quoted in the Memphis Press-Scimitar: " I'm definitely gonna do a record with him. You'd be surprised what we could do together. You ask me if I think he's good. How many Cadillacs was it he bought? That boy's no fool."

February 25, 1961

Tennessee governor Buford Ellington and Memphis mayor Henry Loeb both declared this day "Elvis Presley Day". At a special luncheon at the Hotel Claridge, Elvis was presented by RCA with a diamond studded watch to honor record sales of more than 75 million. Sam Philips asked why Sun Records got so little recognition for Elvis ' success, reminding everyone that "RCA wouldn't have him if it wasn't for Philips."

Elvis performed at the Memphis Charity Show, Ellis Auditorium, Memphis at 3.00 and 8.30 p.m.
Attendance at the first show was 3,860 and at the second 6,540. The comedian George Jessel introduced Elvis in the evening as "one of the greatest singer-actors of this century."
After the evening show Elvis hold a party at Graceland.

Elvis had a soundtrack recording session in Nashville from 10.15 p.m. to 3.30 a.m. for Harum Scarum.

February 25, 1967

Elvis flew back from Nashville to Memphis n the early evening. He had the plane circle over his ranch before landing.

February 25, 1968

Elvis flew to Los Angeles to his new home at 1174 Hillcrest Drive. This smaller, 4 bedroom house offered Elvis, Priscilla and Lisa Marie more privacy than before. Only Charlie Hodge, Patsy and Gee Gee Gambill were living there too.

February 25, 1970

Elvis and the guys from the entourage flew to Houston for Elvis' engagement at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in Kirk Kerkorian's private jet. Though the Colonel had tried to force the guys to travel on their own, they all went along with Elvis except for the wives this time. Elvis held a brief press conference at the airport before checking into the Astroworld Hotel for his first performance outside Las Vegas since 1961.
