Yes Tony Elvis was still doing Polk Salad in 77 to a different version. Or do you mean indifferent version. Cause my ears tell me the 77 version is far inferior to the 69/70 versions. The majority of his shows were boring & tired from 74 on. He should stopped touring & got himself straight. Maybe he might still be with us today. God love him.

Elvis WAS still performing "Polk salad Annie" since 1970, but in a completely different arrangement! There are several songs that Elvis was still doing in '77 that he started using in 1969 / 70, namely, "I got a woman", "Bridge over troubled water", "How great thou art", "I can't stop loving you" etc. These were a staple of his show and he changed the set list around a fair amount.

Hope the contents are better than the cover. Somehow I think I'm hoping against hope.

Steve V you're right but let's not sound too bitter about it, it was a long time ago and there's not much we can do about it now. Besides history has proved that EVERY artist has been through similar probelms in one form or another from Billie holliday to Bowie to Rod Stewart to Amy, I honestly don't think it's a big deal anymore. I love everything Elvis. It sometimes takes a guy like him to mirror the faults in us all but it takes a bigger person to admit them. And those who laugh at his final days, well, don't tempt fate...

The die hard fans are the only thing that matter.

Yes I am Dan, and its releases like this and this time period in Elvis' life in general that saddnes me. At 41, he was basically washed up, lets face it. If you cant admit to that, maybe YOU are not the true fan. I have no problem in saying that his best days were behind him in 1976. Whats really sad was he was a still very young man yet and could have accomplished much greater things had he been surrounded by the right people. Or maybe it was Elvis himself. As someone said, it looks like he took the easy path after Aloha.

Sometime I get a feeling I'd be a great cover art designer. Dear producer if you are reading this be aware I can do a MUCH better job for a VERY reasonable price.

I side with Charlie and Steve V. Don't worry Dan, we three are Elvis fans as much as you are. But it's not because we admire Elvis that we are automatically blind. It's not a secret for anyone that Elvis's live performances took a turn for the worst after 74. The die-hard fans kept on filling arenas up in spite of it but for the press and from a historical point of view, his carrer went downhill. Except maybe for a few songs recorded in that late period, Elvis didn't live up to what he once was representing in the past....unfortunately ! We don't sound negative, we merely state a fact ! So please everyone, don't waste your money on releases like that one...and yes Steve, the cover is awful !

Well, i must say Steve V has a point. It is great unfortune, what happened to our man, yes the 'system' got him and to be truthfull, he should have tried to fight it but he choose the easy way. I think he realy needed another comeback in late 70's to get him back on the track, or that long spoken Europian tour.

Whoah, Steve??!! Are you sure you are an Elvis Fan?!
Steve V (profilecontact) wrote on Nov 18, 2007report abuse
Goes to show how bored Elvis & his shows became by 1976. He was still performing Polk Salad Annie, a song he introduced in his act 6 years earlier! The shows became a blur. There was no innovation, songs were rushed. You want to know why some people dont give Elvis the same critical praise as The Beatles or Dylan? Listen to this show. He was considred passe by all but his fans by 1976.

I am pretty sure that many will buy this crap. And speaking about HAHAHA - I am afraid that the only one who will laugh out loud will be the producer of this CD parody.... when he will count his $$$.

... And "hounddog" in one word. Spelling errors in titles reveal the quality of its content better than any review.

My God, my God... I hope the upcoming soundboard reissues (by 2001/Audionics) will extrude these crappy audience recordings.
