23,364 copies sold! Well at least double that number is the amount released every Monday (35k + CDs and 10k Vinyl).... and yet the shops seem to sell out within the first day... surely over 20,000 can't be reserved and not collected! Beats me!? No.2 is a fantastic achievement, would be great if Elvis could get one more No.1 before the series ends.... so good luck ALLC next week. Would be great if later in the year BMG release a NEW single that everyone can get there hands on, a single the general public may not have heard sung by Elvis. Maybe it could be released on vinyl too as a lot of people to like this trusty collectable format . There are a number of songs I have always wanted to be released: Stranger In My Own Hometown/Tomorrow Is Such A Long Time/Wearin' That Loved On Look/Funny How Time Slips Away/Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On to name a few. Here's to next weeks No.1 A Little Less Conversation!

I got the same E-mail Yoda. I wonder if anyone can tell me if singles despatched before the release date count towards next weeks chart position.

Sorry Yoda, it was Volvo who had the E-mail from HMV.

Hi, Two points: First, ALLC has a really good shot at #1 as Amarillo is likely to see much reduced sales next week. Brian Quinn claims sales drop off by around 50% per week. Second, I too, received an email from HMV about the dispatch of ALLC, so I phoned them and the guy I spoke to said that these sales would definitely count to next week's chart. P.S. Has anyone seen how many copies of ALLC in very low vinyl #'s there are? Long Live The King!

The shops are supplied as early as the previous Wednesday, but are under strict instructions from BMG not to sell anything until Monday. I have heard a couple of strange occurrences. A fan queued up outside his local HMV store, and was there when the roller blinds went up. He was the first and only person who went into the shop. Upon wishing to make his purchase, he was told that all copies had been sold!!?? Secondly, it has been reported that 3 copies of the same single in different parts of the country have the SAME number on the sleeve!! IN HMV in Oxford Street yesterday, there was not one copy of WD to be found, not even unumbered ones, which will apparently be on the shelves on Monday. With 35000 numbered CDs and 7500 vinyl, where have the other 20,000 gone if WD has sold 23,000. This must be some kind of conspiracy.

I really despair at times-- despite the opportunity to download Elvis is not selling anymore than when the singles promotion began..If as many fans were buying a download as a disc Elvis would have skyrocketed to no.1.Am I to conclude that a large number(a majority) of fans either don't care or are too tight fisted to have any interest in seeing their man promoted in this rare opportunity. If so what a shame!!At least ALLC ,even if it doesn't make no.1 ,should get TOTP and other pop show TV air play if it goes top five because there is a video which EPE don't control.Buy Buy Buy.Still we know one thing -that despite downloads as long as BMG bring out a track of interest to fans eg alt.take etc it will go top 5 almost certainly-they should now adopt this policy all the time whenever the possibility exists .TCB
