Vegas Variety 2

January 14, 2008 | Music

The Rainbow Records import label announced the release of volume two in the "Vegas Variety" series containing a complete and nearly 85 minutes long performance of Elvis Presley´s December 11, 1976 Midnight Show in Las Vegas.

The press release:

Rainbow Records is going to release a double CD-Set titled „Vegas Variety Volume 2“, containing a complete and nearly 85 minutes long performance of Elvis Presley´s Dec. 11th, 1976 Midnight Show in Las Vegas.

The recording of this show has been taken from an early generation (audience recorded) Cassette-Tape and it has been carefully worked on using professional studio-equipment. So the Producers are again able to present exactly what their aim for this series of classic „Presley-Style“ Vegas-Concerts stands for: a real good performance from Elvis´ very last engagement at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel in good and listenable sound-quality, rounded off by a great 20 page booklet containing a lot of information regarding the show – including a detailed review of the concert written just one day after it took place.

Hear Elvis, who is clearly in a relaxed mood, enjoying himself and doing classy versions of songs like „Trying To Get To You“, „My Way“, „Hurt. Elvis also does spontaneous versions of „Reconsider Baby“ plus a gospel song called „Until Then“.

As a bonus you get even more highlights from the December 76 Las Vegas concerts, such as „I Just Can´t Help Believin´“ from the Opening Show and „Bridge Over Troubled Water“ from the Closing Show. We hope you like our second volume of „Vegas Variety“!

Love the 'traditional' credit given after 'Introduction Of The Presley Family', 'Band Introductions' and 'Introductions of Celebrities'! Can't wait to hear 'Rock My Sould'. Anyone know how different it is from 'Rock My Soul'?

Granted,....these Vegas 76 have their charm. Elvis was by far better in the previous tours. The shows were qiite long and our man gave what he was able to give. The song line up was interesting, too. If the sources are what we know from CDR and the sound has been worked on a bit than we have a good deal. The 20-page booklet is a nice addition along with the interesting bonus songs..

I don't believe it! Someone finally got the title of "Until Then" right. They've listed the correct author and everything! I'm impressed!!!!
