US #1 Box

June 07, 2005 | Music
The following singles are the ones that BMG in the US will release in the fall of 2005. The plan is to make a box like the one that was released in the UK months ago. The singles in this upcoming box will also be released one per week like BMG UK did with their box. Out of Elvis' 18 number one hits in the UK did the box give Elvis 3 more number ones and 15 more top 3 hits. The US box will contain Elvis' 20 US Cashbox number one hits.

I predict this will have greater success here in america than it did in britian, by this i mean the re-releases will probably garner more #1 spots because Elvis is an american entertainer and his fanbase is rock solid here. He is also more appreciated here to.

wooooo hoooo when does this begin coming out? and where will it be available at?

Sttos, I find your commements rather conceited. "Elvis is an american entertainer and his fanbase is rock solid here." No argument with you on that one! "He is also more appreciated here to." Depends on your point of view, if you consider the American fans who can't get enough of their Elvis goodies for their dogs and cats and all the other 'tat' that they purchase then the answer is yes. Now I know that will upset some people but it's true, the Asians and Europeans seem to be more music and music collectible orientated and avoid the 'tat'. As for the numbers 1's let's wait and see and also how our U.S. cousins par up with the Monday (or whatever day it will be) weekly releases and everything else that came with the supply and demand problems in the UK. I can't help but have a wry smile in the anticipation of what is to come, provided of course that they are limited editions??

whether the u.s. box will be just as big over here as was over their will remain to be seen, one can only hope. but i've got a bit of information for mr. scrapbook, seems very funny that you say that foreigners don't tote on their collectables like americans do other than music when in fact, you probably see just as many people if not more hitting the gift shops just right across the street from the mansion, and their not all buying just music. so whether mr. sttos's comment was conceited or not, the facts speak for themselves. oh and.... we do have such things as "limited editions" here in the u.s.

To be very honest, i have serious doubts that the USA will beet U.K. in records sales with the singles, and stongly doubt that "He is also more appreciated here to"! America just have to sell more than 750.000 units from the singles in 18 weeks, to prove i'm wrong! So let's get it done!! TCB

This is good news, yes I do think the singles will sell well but they will never be number #1. In the good ole U.S of A , Billboard chatrs are made up by airplay and not sells.

i truly believe that the #1's that britain gave to elvis will be nowhere near duplicated. in fact, i doubt elvis will make any #1's. he is not that appreciated in his home country, unfortunately. too many concentrate on the last year of elvis' life and are blind to all the good ones before. today's kids run the chart and they ain't gonna buy no singles from those 3 decades! adults don't buy singles here either. but i look forward to snapping up what i can---since i love to collect E's music! most sincerely, sue L, Las vegas nv president, viva las vegas elvis fan club: i make darn sure my club reminds everyone how GREAT elvis WAS! :)

poneygirlup,i agree with you completely. i consider myself lucky because i have a radio station here in TORONTO, CANADA that plays 'ELVIS' as a regular and also plays album cuts and 'B' sides but sad to say, this station plus about four other stations will be the only places in and this area that will give any publicity to the ELVIS singles. this is only my opinion but i believe it to be accurate.

As a collector of US singles like many others in the UK, getting these could well be a nightmare if they are released as a limited edition and on a weekly basis. What will be interesting is whther they release "Love Me Tender" in the 4 differnt coloured sleeves. I know they've asked for the artwork on all four.

No the singles box won't be as big in the USA as it was in the UK simply because the singles box will most likely be sold as a SET here. Not individually week by week as in the UK.

Does anyone know what formats they will be in? i.e. Just cds or vinyl as well?

Elvis will reach no 1 in the US single chart again. But with a new and fresh sounding production.

I shure hope that this will be a succes! But I think it won't be as big in the US as in the UK. Maybee the fanbase is solid, but in Europe are a lot of fanatics in the way of collecting! Elvis in europe is more popular now then he ever was, and also much more respected then he was a few years ago! for exsample The concert is always a huge succes especialy in The Netherlands , Belgium ,and in the UK! and keeps returning with even more succes!Maybee it's because Elvis still had a wish to fullfill for those European fans, and they can have now ,what the US had then! But I believe there will be more #1s in the future, worldwideE lvis has no boundaries, and no limits. Keep singin a song!

I want to know when this starts also and why we have not heard anything about this from EPE. I think in America it can be just as popular if not more so than in the UK. Depending on how it is marketed, Remember Elvis's 25th anniverssary of his death I am 27yrs old and an elvis Fanatic there were people in the store gathering Elvis items that were younger than me, because it was advertised marketed the media picked it up. Here it is the year we are suppose to realease this and me an avid Elvis fan found the Info on Elvisnews.com only I hope the king pulls it off dont underestimate his impact here look how special releases have done in the US pretty damn good. I want to know when it starts and where I can get them all please get the word out to every one. The debate is Boxset vinyl Cd it dont matter lets pull the king ahead of the beatles in #1 Hits just as in britain. By the way Did Elvis get credit for his #1's from the 18 songs if not we need to contact some one as Elvis fans Thanks alot everyone
