Good news from Sandi Pichon, Sonny West is doing MUCH better after his operation. She reports today that if Sonny continues to improve they will move him from ICU to a room tomorrow! Sonny came through the surgery fine after they ended up doing 4 bypasses. He is once again laughing and talking.

No person should wish another person harm or suffering especially when you dont even personally know that person or was around to be in his shoes. I'm glad Sonny is recovering.

I wish Sonny a full recovery. I met him a few times, and he is a great storyteller. As for the 1977 book, I also do not like it (even though some of it is the truth) but it was done at a time when they were fired, and they were probably hurt themselves having being with Elvis for so long (Red as far back as high school). They probably felt betrayed themselves. Elvis didn’t even speak to them.

Maybe they wanted to do the right thing (stop Elvis from self-destruction) but went about it the wrong way. They are humans, and humans make mistakes. We are not here to judge them, and we should not wish them harm. Sonny and the others have only their conscience to answer to. Elvis wasn’t perfect, and neither were they (neither are we).

Remember that Joe Esposito and Dr. Nick once sued Elvis regarding the racquetball court built in Graceland. They weren’t fired! They were kept on the payroll, while Sonny, Red and Dave were fired. Anyways, I wish Sonny good health. TCB

Though one might have apersonal view on all that surrounds him, one should never harbour negative thoughts to a person. As I often express: there are no bad people, only bad actions. We should watch our own actions, hence: I am happy to read about his recovery, both for himself and for his beloved ones.

Harvey, agreed about the Wests more than once saving Elvis in certain situations from whatever, and that's to their credit, but the book, imo, was a bridge too far and must have hurt our man very hard I think . They were no choire-boys indeed, but in spite of their action, writing that book, it's a good thing to know Sonny is getting better now, and I wish him a complete recovery. What happened in 1977 is between Sonny, Red ,Dave and their respectively conscience. I think we don't have the right to judge. I'll never be a fan of the Wests but I don't hate them. Always El.

Boy, I sure wish some of the folks on here would take their blinkers off. The Wests saved Elvis' ass on more than one occasion (both literally and otherwise). They were far from perfect but most of them don't deserve the kind of hatred shown towards them by some of the ill-informed 'fans' here.

I don't give a damn about the Wests. They stuck the knife into Elvis, and destroyed his spirit. Now this person knows what it is like to be smacked in the heart. I didn't wish anything bad on him nor the others, but I do believe in karma. Don't do it to others, if you don't want it on yourself. They still live off Elvis; so don't be mugs enough to pay his hospital bills too.

If Elvis was still alive, I'm sure he wouldn't have given a rats **** what Sonny West was up to. Seeing as they wrote a book out of greed and hate for their former boss. The only thing they did was 'help' Elvis go even further down hill. Can't see how it's "narrow-minded" to dislike all the Wests after writing such an awful book about Elvis.

Good News. I too just had quadruple heart bypass surgery three(3) weeks ago. To all Elvis fans please know that this surgery is truly like being smacked down by a runaway Mack Truck. Recovery takes time and effort. All best wishes will help for a speedy recovery.
