Upcoming Movie DVD Releases

In December we mentioned some of them already, but now The Man And His Music confirmed that Turner/ Warner will release 7 titles next July. At least two of the titles will make a lot of fans happy, since "It Happened At The World's Fair" and "This Is Elvis" (extended version) were on many's list. The other five titles are: "Harum Scarum", "Spinout", "Double Trouble", "Speedway" and "The Trouble With Girls".

It Happens At The World's Fair. It would seem that this title has been pulled from Warner's release schedule as there is a copyright clearance problem with one of the songs. This is also the reason that Girl Happy & Kissin' Cousins are not being released. It is down to simple greed by the writers etc.

New DVD box sets are available for pre order at PLAY.COM (for region 2 DVD's). These have a release date of 9th August. Box set 1 - Jailhouse Rock, Trouble With Girls, Spinout and Double Trouble. Box set 2 - Viva Las Vegas, Speedway, Harum Scarum and This is Elvis. There are no technical details yet (i.e. screen format and sound format). I hope the single film releases are available sooner !

This is great news. it will be nice to see the Trouble with Girls in widescreen. Elvis' only mystery movie. When is the new Aloha from hawaii DVD and the 68 comeback dvds coming out. these are what I cant wait to see. I am wondering if they are using the Japanese footage to get different angles or if they have all the footage from each and every camera that was filming and there is lots of different angles they can re-edit from? Does anyone know.

Yeah great news, I never saw the movie 'Spinout' and now I can buy it on dvd!, this is going to be a great year for the elvis fans. The most important release jet to come. 68 comeback and Aloha. Now it's only waiting for a special-edition of "Elvis On Tour" and perhaps somewhere in the future a release of Elvis The Concert '77(special edition?)

I've been holding out to buy these titles on VHS for so long, with the hopes that the DVD's would be released. Oh, happy day.

This is great news, indeed. "It Happened at the World's Fair" finally on DVD, yes! "Spinout," yes! So many happy, youthful memories are connected with all these titles. I hope some extras are included -- trailers, outtakes, co-star commentary, etc. Things that have been ignored on too many of the previously released DVDs. More reasons to look forward to this summer.

The ''cut'' footage of Elvis on Tour 72 should be presented on a new Tour DVD rather than This is Elvis. The fans have been waiting way too long for this brilliant period in Elvis's concert career.

OK! I'm gonna saving some Euros since this very moment 'til then. Never mind, I'll be broke in July: seven new DVDs (Oh, My God! This is Elvis at last!), the special Combeback edition, Aloha From Hawaii..
Hey brother, can'ou gimme a dime?

I agree that this is going to be a great release. As for "This is Elvis" I understand the overdubbing for TV, but not on this release!
JerryNodak (profilecontact) wrote on Feb 29, 2004report abuse
I just hope all the titles released include all the original songs with nothing cut out.

This is very god news. When they release This Is Elvis on DVD ,I hope they have the footage of Elvis with body guards , backstage in 1972 , and more footage from 1972 and other eras. I hope that there is bonus features as well.I welcome other releases as well that are planned.
Lets see what happens . - I hope there is a cd of -This is Elvis as well.

Big Boss Man (profilecontact) wrote on Feb 29, 2004report abuse
I hope we will have a This is Elvis undubbed version(the famous Elvis quote "Man, this girl I was with last night gave me the greatest head" for "man this girl I was with last night could raise the dead") and adding moche more unseen footage.

This Is Elvis was a great movie although they overdubbed my favorite part of the movie. The scene when he was joking with his bodyguards backstage talking about his female companion the night before. I just hope that they release the This Is Elvis soundtrack on CD.

I just hope they all the big screen films are widescreen unlike the upcoming 'Follow that Dream' release. Great news it is.
