UK Singles For Elvis Fans

February 17, 2005 | Music
Are you missing any singles in your collection due to the overwhelming success of this re-release series? Then the Official Elvis Presley Fan Club from the UK, in association with SONY BMG, can help you out. Starting March first an order form can be downloaded from ElvisNews.com to order any missing cd-single or vinyl copy, including the collector's box and complete this successful series of re-releases. The fan club will obtain supplies from SONY / BMG and ship them these to reach you by the end of May. The order form is a PDF-document (download the reader at www.adobe.com).

There are a few rules:

1. The order form will be on-line starting March 1st.
2. You order must be received by the OEPFC no later that May 10th.
3. All orders must be entered using the order form, orders by telephone can not be accepted.
4. You will receive your order by the end of May.
5. ElvisNews.com only hosts the order form, so don't contact us with any question on your order.

Great news, thanks a million TODD. Just one question, does this only apply to OEPFC memebers??? Also, I assume these will be un-numbered copies??

can someone please tell me how the fan club can obtain supplies from sony/bmg of the cd's and, wait for it. vinyl when some shops around the country can only get hold of 2 copies of the cd's. people have been queuing up at 7.30am in some places waiting for the shops to open to get copies of the releases. the supply the fan club are going to get, why couldn't they have been put on the shelf? as much as I love the collection, I've been one of the lucky ones, as HMV have honoured my order, I think the whole thing has been a mess from the very beginning, what with all the rip off merchants on ebay ripping people off, one person had 58 copies of It's Now Or Never(numbered sequentialy) for sale, that was advertised a few days before the single was even released, that's another one that needs an explanation. Anyone...??

As I undersatand it, the Fan Club and BMG had discussions early on in response to concerns from fans that due to the rip-off artists on EBAY some fans could be left with gaps in their collections. The Fan Club and BMG gave a commitment that for genuine fans who were caught with a few gaps an effort would be made to assist them to complete the collection. This statement is obviously how they plan to honour the commitment. Those plonkers on EBAY could not have caused the havoc if people had not been willing to pay rediculous prices. I suspect tjose paying the big prices were mainly spculators rather than fans. Either way, I have no doubt that the vast majority of real fans will end up with full collections.

It was always going to happen. I think it takes a way the collectability of the whole thing, wots the use now if theres going to be unlimited amounts,... see BMG you can never win lol

I thought this was a limited edition. We've gone from 20k to 30k numbered singles and now we are to be overwhelmed with copies. Hardly collectible. Anyone want a box and 8 singles?

joemin, what's wrong with buying them on ebay?? I have bought the last 4 singles on ebay, and I am not getting ripped off, paying 5 or 6 pounds including postage. Service is great, if you don't like the fact that the singles are on ebay, don't look. Ebay is a good place to find some Elvis goodies. More reliable than HMV, and all the other UK record stores.

Although at one point I was about to give up on these singles, I have to say that I'm really pleased with them, they're really nice to own. I only have one title missing, and it's good to know that I can get hold of it through the fan club. Thanks.

James 69 the problem with buying them from Ebay is that they dont chart, so wont help Elvis to number one. I have been lucky enough to get all the cds and vinyls. Cueing up at 8.15 am every Monday but sure its a buzz, cold but a buzz!

I would buy these singles if they were limited or not.I know some Elvis fans were getting the singles because they were a limited edition. And now that you can order them from the fan club there is not much point trying to buy them from any of the music shops is there ? Its been a big struggle trying to get the singles in the music shops and I am still missing 2 singles. Thanks to the fan club I will beable to get the rest of them.I hope the rest of the singles get in the top 5 but I dont think there will be anymore number ones.Which is ashame but never mind at least we have had a great start to the year.I never thought Elvis would ever get to no 1 again after the remix of ALLC.

The reason for the sinlges not being available is not just popularity it is the continued flawed distribution from, SonyBMG, staff at my local HMV Exeter try their best but they are fed up with the hassle and abuse they are gettin from Elvis fans (shame ) when it's not their fault. Sort it out properly Sony/BMG

instead of having to queue up at 8.15 in the morning to make sure you get hold of a copy, why don't you just pre-order all of the singles from the store, like i have done, and then there's no rush to collect it on Monday morning (apart from being eager to get it home so you can listen to it!)

emu i go and cue for Elvis every Monday morning cause its a buzz ! Its makes me think this is what it must have been like in the early days when a new Elvis record came out and everyone wanted one right away. I have also met some other fans while cueing and we talk Elvis until the doors open, as they say in Ireland "sure its a bit of craic".

Saint Todd to the rescue. Add an extra pound to the cost of the cd and a quid over the top for p and p - that'll be the OEPFC!
Ally wrote on February 18, 2005
Welldone BMG & OEPFC, Do we order every week from 1st March or wait untill the last single is out in April & will there be enough to go round?. I can't believe that some people are still moaning now that the fan club are making these available to all. Will these singles sold, count for chart positions?
roytcbintheuk wrote on February 18, 2005
i agree with you totally john4126 thats why i stopped being a member of the fan club over 10 years ago because you could guarantee everything from them were dearer then anyone else. no benefit at all being a fan club member

emu where I live Hmv and Virgin are refusing to take anymore pre orders for the singles since A Fool Such As I was released.I cannot order them from the internet because I dont have a credit card so I have no choice but to go to the record shops.

I disagree with what was said about products being dearer when bought from the Fan Club......I don't mind paying an extra couple of quid if i know that i am going to get the goods and i cannot fault the service as whenever i do order from them it comes very quickly.....well done to Todd

I agree with you Elizabeth, the service is always good - well worth a couple of pounds extra, there's always a helpful voice on the end of the phone who actually knows what she's talking about, and I really look forward to my magazine coming throught the door. I don't know any Elvis fans except my sister so it's a good way to keep in touch with what's going on, as is this website.
roytcbintheuk wrote on February 19, 2005
well all i can say if you are prepared to pay more for something when you can get it cheaper elsewhere well thats up to you the point i am making is if you subscribe to a club you should expect to get things at a cheaper price thats the whole idea of being in a club isnt it
John4126 wrote on February 20, 2005
Compare OEPFC prices with Elvis the man and his music and Essential Elvis and you will find that you are paying over the odds.
James69 wrote on February 22, 2005
Robirish, I live in Montreal, Canada, so I cannot buy them in UK record stores. And the copies on ebay were bought at Record stores, no? My guess is that indeed all the ebay copies are being bought in stores then re-sold on ebay. It's my only outlet guaranteed to get me all the singles, and I am not missing one yet.
