Go Elvis, let's make it number i this week!!

It would be good to know the actual numbers. We`ll prob do about 27,000 again so we gotta hope we`ve got a big enough lead over those beneath us,in the hope they can`t catch us! CITC next week could be our last hope before the downloads on the 10th-though i read somewhere they`d been moved back until the 17th.Anyone else read this? TCB

If there's a Classical Music section in your local record stockist, hide the Kylie & Carey singles behind Mahler. If they can't find 'em...they can't buy 'em!

Considering last weeks (and the previous weeks) mammoth sales of the Amarillo single and the humongous popularity of this particular TC song with the general public It looks like a number 2 at best for us If that. Amarillo will probably still ship 40,000 plus this week.

I predict a no.2 or 3 this week...I don't rate the Carey single, think it's awful...don't slate me..just don't like it. However, Kylie's is good, and whats she's got behind her might help...if you know what I mean!! A lot behind her.

Ranger - Good idea!! I sometimes put an Elvis CD on the "CD of the Week" shelf in Tescos to draw peoples attention to it -every little helps!
bossanovababy wrote on March 31, 2005
Yep guys, everytime i walk into HMV there is no Elvis to be found and lots of `single of the week` space taken up by a few artists. When i leave `single of the week` looks like an Elvis promotion area! Not the current single though,obviously.TCB.

just noticed the above figures,NO.1 is obviously impossible, but i`d now be REALLY disappointed if the others catch up! Surely we will be back in the top 3? Then it`s all hopes on Crying In The Chapel! TCB.

where are all the singles going at the start he was selling 40,000 has people stopped buying the single or they just choosing what they want? There must be a lot of half filled boxes out there.Keep the king no1. We have to get the last couple of singles to no1.

Ronnie, the sales figures have consistently been in the 20k to 28k range in the first week. There is generally not enough product available to get much beyond that in the first week. For example, the un-numbered product is held back until the second week to ensure the charts are not totally dominated by Elvis. The singles got to the 40k mark when you include sales for later weeks.

I have refrained from leaving any comments regarding elvis chart positions as unfortunately i am starting to lose interest and its not that i do not want our man to reach the #1 position it is because who but us fans care if elvis is in the charts full stop, not even Epe have backed this campaign by allowing any film of elvis being shown on the bbc and itv and the whole point of elvis getting in todays charts is to show the younger generation how great and unique elvis was and is but this will never be as all we get shown on tv is a photograph.no one will ever sell as many records or reach the status elvis did and conquer the world lets face it elvis as had more #1s than the beatles and never appeared in this country an achievement in itself.I think if elvis gets another #1 it will be a bonus he still will hold the record for the most #1s.Sorry if these comments seem negative in parts it is because i am still seething over the 1000th #1 (totps) where are you Epe you suppose to be protecting his legacy.
