If you are from outside the UK and would like to help Surrender get to #1, then you can do so by buying it at the hmv website (hmv dot co dot uk). The UK fans have been doing a magnificent job, against all the odds. Theye overcame the problems due to EBAY and rip-off merchants. They managed 3 #1's. This time around they have been given a Mountain to climb. Now that the singles have been produced in big numbers the retailers are holding some of them back. But we can support the fans in the UK. The HMV site has surrender availble, un-numbered copies. If people outside the UK buy these we can boost the chart performance. Please do what you can..

Don't you think a lot of fans already ordered through on-line shops?
joemin wrote on February 15, 2005
Certainly a lot of fans have ordered online. But many fans were unable to order as the available product ran out a long, long time ago. Now that the un-numbered singles are available there is an opertunity for more fans from outside the UK to help out.

superb song, if only there was a vid to promote it, should be number one on performance alone. Lets see eminem or whoever put this amount of passion into a song.

i got mine on Monday, but maybe(hopefully) some of you guys(lots of you guys) are waiting a few days? Maybe we`ll pick up sales later in the week for a change?

I guess a lot of fans think "that won't happen again... beaten on Saturday", and wait for Saturday to buy it.

I ordered my copy on line from HMV ages ago. I have'nt even received the Wooden Heart CD and 10 inch yet. So your guess is as good as mine for Surrender!

Not one copy in HMV today, one of It's Now or Never but not any of the other singles that have been released. Will watch to see if Surrender comes out on the shelves later or even next week.

Come on guys, you don't have to be a brain surgeon to realise what's going on. There is still not enough product reaching the record stores. I implore everyone to e-mail Sony/BMG with this complaint. Tell them the truth about the difficulty in getting the record. Tell them to read the postings on this site. Please do this as we've still got 11 records to go. If anyone is in doubt, then they should'nt be. We have got only one chance at this so let's be united and speak as one voice. This web site is very respected worldwide and we should use it to voice are concerns. Treat this singles issue as Elvis's comeback and make a positive statement that Elvis was and still is the best solo recording artist in the world. We have got to do this for ourselves and the next generation. It is our responsibility to take this on. Remember we are making history everytime Elvis gets to No.1

strike me ink elvis after 40 years is number 1,2,3 on charts stop complaing this is great news. have a real good think about this. for years you never saw a thing. look at the charts in the newspaper charts and see elvis, he is doing better now dead than alive. long live the king and me

In my opinion Elvis will now struggle to get a number 1. Reason is simple... the extra copies will now mean it will sell less in the 1st week, this is because the ebayers who previously went to hmv/virgin and bought 20 copies to sell will now not touch them. I have seen 1 guy selling 10 copies of afsai as a job lot for £20 because nobody wants them now. The truth is that BMG were correct that the demand is about 25000 copies, many fans buy the cd and vinyl and some collect an extra set. Therefore only about 15000 different people are purchasing each week.

I am going to try and get Surrender on Friday.I have never seen any of the singles on a saturday. You might find an occasional one on sunday but thats usually one of the earlier singles.I am still trying to get a single of Wooden Heart. If these are suppose to be unlimited why cant I find any ? And I cannot order from the internet because I dont have a credit card

i`m going to look at it this way,we will definitely reach sales of 25000-28000,whether it`s by wednesday or saturday. So if lopez doesn`t top that we`ll be No.1. I know singles are being held back, but surely not 10000 of them... I know there`s people on this site struggling to get them, but there are plenty of fans who do get them that aren`t on here. All previous sales can`t just be made by us guys! I will assume the other 10000 or so fans will get them at some point this week. Hopefully!!!

The disturbing thing about the lack of copies of Surrender is that BMG are calling the shots. Major outlets such as HMV have BEEN INSRUCTED not to sell any more than two and in many cases one copy per customer. Now we could view that from two stand points. For the true fans thats fine there should be enough to go round, and of course if BMG got their act together and pressed say 38,000 units. Elvis would be topping the charts with each and every release. Then of course there are deeper issues BMG are keen to promote up and coming talent and contemporary artists and the last thing they need is Old Elvis making a laughing stock of these acts by swamping their sales. Especially having invested heavily in these "one minute wonders" I have never known a situation when a record company undermine their artists to the point where they can tell a major concern (and might i add a massive customer) like HMV how to go about their buisness. It stinks of corporate manipulation.

Talk about manipulation. ok i have to mention once again ! Do you all remember when "A Little Less Conversation" was number one for 4 weeks ? huh, do you ? well let me tell you it was still selling strong and would have made 5 weeks at least but because Garthe Gates single was comming out the ALLC singles were withdrawen from the shops and releases stopped , just to let wee Garthe get to number one, now thats a fact!!, so they can do whatever the hell they like!
John4126 wrote on February 18, 2005
Didnt ALLC sell in excess of 400.000 copies? Now that's a number one record!
